--this propaganda piece is as full of misinformation and outright lies as any I have recently seen--the only positive thing about it is that the comments afterward take it to pieces---

The title and first sentence do not work. The trayvon martin case was not about stand your ground. It was about shooting someone on top of you beating your face in.

“.......fire a warning shot”.

Sounds like she swallowed Biden’s idea hook, line and sinker.

She didn’t mention the “normal” life of having to send your kid halfway across the state to live with his father because she couldn’t handle the monster she created.

His liver was in an advanced state of deterioration because he was doing “lean” or “purple drank” which affects the body the same as PCP.

When PCP was the “rage” years ago, we who remember those days also remember the super human violent tendencies of those who were high on it as well.

That is the reality she was living but has now been co-opted by the race pimps as just another useful idiot.

"But after my son was killed, my family was thrust into the national spotlight."

But .... sure seems to me like she's doing everything she can to stay in that damn spotlight - CNN guest (multiple times), speaking at rallies, interviews, man for she's everywhere now!

Gotta act while people still remember Skittles, I guess ...

Over a 1/3 of sucessful stand your ground cases in Florida involve black folks. You eliminate stand your ground and those folks would be incarcerated. they make up what? 11% of the population.
Lets change laws without looking at rationale...cripes we are so doomed.

>>she was just a “regular mom” who worked for the Miami Dade Housing Agency by developing educational programs for people living in Section 8 housing.

We are living a Kafkaesque existence when a woman who was clearly unable to properly raise her own son is entrusted with educating others in how to live their lives.

Thank you, Big Government, for all you do.

Sybrina should have taught her son not to pound folks’ heads on the pavement. When her son pounded a head on the pavement, he got shot. Justice, right there.

She is right. We do need change. While I don’t believe in warning shots, nobody should get 60 years for doing so.

Agreed on the propaganda.

And, BTW, ‘warning shots’ should ALWAYS be center mass.

Just sayin’

The first thing that needs to be clarified is which party ‘stood their ground’.
Martin or Zimmerman.
If the argument is Zimmerman ‘stood’ then Martin was the aggressor.
That would blow holes in the entire ‘poor little victim’ argument.

A few observations:

The purpose of the article seems to be to sell $50 tickets to see this broad speak and racebait.

Correct, the comments completely destroy the entire contents of the article, and the race card they were written on.

A "right to fire warning shots" law can promoted completely independent of Stand Your Ground laws.

I cannot think of a situation where warning shots are completely safe for bystanders and would be a good idea.

Yes, it is. After the mainstream media got ahold of this story, they made the kid look like a misguided choirboy (almost always pictured at age 10). I spoke to several police officers, including a Chicago gang-unit officer, and an FBI agent who all stated that the Florida neighborhood had had trouble with outsiders and the neighborhood watch was doing its part in trying to reduce the uptick in crime. According to these officers, George Zimmerman was in fear for his life by a teenager who may have been under the influence of a homemade intoxicant (ingredients had been acquired by Martin).

Unfortunately, I live in a “blue” state, Illinois, that believes in retreat, which Joe Biden doesn’t even seem to endorse, however wasteful (of ammo).

The mother of Trayvon Martin is on a mission

Maybe if momma spent more time on a mission of raising Trayvon he would be now alive and doing well.

I believe it should be clarified at least weekly as part of public service announcements.

Attention: This is a public service announcement.

We have Stand Your Ground Laws in this great State. That means that if a thug intimidates/molests/attacks a lawful citizen for no apparent justifiable reason, said citizen can shoot the perpetrator without being prosecuted.

Did you get that thugs? If you attack and harm others, or refuse to grant a buffer zone to those who try to keep from close proximity, due to your intimidating demeanor, you are likely to be shot and killed; and the person who shoots you will not be arrested.

End of public service message.
