Do you get the feeling that our media is not giving us the whole story on what is happening over there?
To: artichokegrower
Well they told us the Pope embraced civil unions for homos and that the Muslim Brotherhood was moderate... seems legit.

.....And a CNN anchorlady actually believes, or believed that “global warming” could make meteor strikes more likely.
(She asked that of Bill Nye The “Science” Guy on air anyway. I’m a little surprised the moron didn’t say that it was.)

Demolition team could split it with high explosives but a big mess and not quick to get it cleaned up.

Damn, global warming must have done the sinking.
On 2nd thought, probably not or the mainstream media would have told us about this.
To: steve86
Russia scuttled it. If a Demo team approached they would simply wave them off (under arms) claiming salvage rights. “No, Anatov, that was a mistake we made, she sunk accidently! We wish to raise this ship so it can sail again! Will only take 5 months or so!”

.
what's the deal with the ship's paint colors ?
they're not standard "sea going" gray.
the ship might have been ready to be scrapped.
nevertheless, a very nice "pawn to king's four" move ...

The ship they sunk in the channel was the Ochakov. a Kara-Class late-60’s-era cruiser, that was already heading for the scrapper’s torch.
Laid up for 27 years, since 1987. Was to be rebuilt in the 90’s, but caught fire in the yard, heavily damaging it. Finally was written off and decommissioned in 2011.

I think it would be "sank accidently, but whatever.

seeing they could do a blockade with ships they didn’t have to sink, i don’t quite believe this bs.

Interesting side note:
The inlet that the Ukrainian fleet is bottled up in was the old Soviet Hovercraft and Assault Landing Craft base, and at one time housed thousands of Naval Marines.

Molodyetz!
In Russian, military ships are referred to as `he’, but civilian vessels are `she’.
