Well they told us the Pope embraced civil unions for homos and that the Muslim Brotherhood was moderate... seems legit.
Sky News (UK) does pretty well.
Ping.
Bingo.
Uh.
WOW.
Demolition team could split it with high explosives but a big mess and not quick to get it cleaned up.
Damn, global warming must have done the sinking.
On 2nd thought, probably not or the mainstream media would have told us about this.
ping.
The ship they sunk in the channel was the Ochakov. a Kara-Class late-60’s-era cruiser, that was already heading for the scrapper’s torch.
Laid up for 27 years, since 1987. Was to be rebuilt in the 90’s, but caught fire in the yard, heavily damaging it. Finally was written off and decommissioned in 2011.
seeing they could do a blockade with ships they didn’t have to sink, i don’t quite believe this bs.
Putin, the new rise of Hitler.
Or....Ukranians sank it.
Specs, etc., for the Ochakov:

569 ft. long - not exactly a rowboat.
I wonder if the Ukrainians were going to try to break out and the Russkies got wind of it.
Can’t wait for Putin’s explanation...
Does this qualify as an act of war?
Most misleading headline, ever.
All news media is trash today.
Amateurish: little background on subject, few true subject matter experts, pressure to report quickly (little fact checking)
Biased: ideologically bent by journalists and editors. Feeding their demographic or psycho graphic target audience. CNN goes so far that stories will often vary substantially depending where one is watching because they cater to their market.
No consequences to journalists in reality (libel/slander) and no real professional licensing/credentialing. So there is little concern in consequences for getting it wrong or purposefully doing wrong.
Influenced by political forces (be nice/play along and you’ll get access)
Influenced by money from sponsors.
Restricted because of safety, insurance...
Lazy and willing to often “go along” when being spoon fed.
What sells: pictures, video, conflict, sex, violence, celebrity stories are preferred, and real news is often overlooked because it’s just not “sensational” enough. Even the morning weather has to be made into a sensational story with some sort of conflict.
The story has to be kept short, and what we call in depth is a 3 minute story that is really a superficial gloss over. The story also has to be dumbed down so someone with little knowledge can comprehend what is being discussed: oversimplification.
What we call news is trash. Editorialized trash (journalism vs. reporting) where an entire story could be condensed to a mere paragraph in factual information, the rest simply being opinions, extrapolations, and the discussion of feelings. Repetitive crap by pretty people that are demographically diverse and can talk quickly.
The news has become near pure entertainment, from which little actionable information is gained by the viewer. The viewer watches or listens for affirmation, not to actually receive information upon which decisions can be made. The news is basically operating in the realm of “feelings.”
But there is an upside to our news media. At least most Americans can find the Ukraine on a political map today, because they surely didn’t learn this in their high quality public education.
Yep!
This article gives a better perspective (through pictures and article) of the Ochakov.
does this prevent NATO assets from entering the black sea?
