The Soviet missiles that were put in Cuba were a direct threat to the United States. What threat is there against Russia in Ukraine?

You need to think like a Russian. If you were Russian, you would have studied Napoleon's invasion, and you would have older relatives who personally experienced Hitler's invasion.

For self-defense, you would want the Ukraine in Russia's orbit. Just as the USA wants Canada in the USA's orbit.

I'm not saying that Putin is correct, or that the Russian mind-set is correct. I'm not defending either one. But to understand Russian politics, you need to think like a Russian.

But the US did not occupy Cuba.

Only because the American proxies were defeated at the Bay of Pigs. The US had every intention of "occupying" Cuba. The occupying force was to be American proxies, and not the actual American army.

Don't get me wrong. I wish the Bay of Pigs had turned out differently. The people of Cuba would have been so much better off had Castro been defeated.

Russia did not send proxies. Russia is occupying. Get it?

O'Reilly and Kucinich......the leprechaun and the gnome....now there's a real pair to draw to.

Virtually unnoticed by the cameras at the event, I spotted Dennis and his wife, Elizabeth, milling around in the midst of the red-carpet mob at the Oscars the other night.

She is a lovely lady, towering over her husband by about 10 feet. Despite her taste in husbands, I did like her taste in gowns....and I especially loved her reply when she was asked by a mediacrat "what are you wearing?"......instead of the usual "Armani" or whatever, she answered "No idea....clothes".

I do not see where there is any difference. Regular troops, proxy forces, paid mercenaries, whatever. Old regime is gone. New (puppet) regime is in place. That's what Kennedy wanted for Cuba. And that's what Putin actually got for the Crimea.

Here's the way I see it. The Soviet Union meddled in America's back yard (Cuba), so Kennedy took action. Now it's America that's meddling in Russia's back yard, so Putin took action.

The USSR's meddling in Cuba consisted of placing nuclear-tipped missiles there aimed at the United States. Hardly equivalent to any US "meddling" in Ukraine.

And therein lies your problem.

You're absolutely correct about that! No argument from me. But what matters is not how you or I see the situation. What matters is how the Russians see it.

We need to be aware of reality, certainly. But we must also be aware of the Russians' version of reality.

The only good thing I can say about Kucinich, is that he has a good looking wife. He can certainly be B. S. Crazy.

The US State Dept. admits spending roughly $5 Billion on this type of direct meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs.

Oh, lovely. I don't think I have to repeat how I feel about State under Hillary and Johneffin'. More later and a BTT.

FOLLOW THE MONEY! National Endowment for Democracy has long been known as a CIA front organization. Guess who else funds with NED... Soros! So do ya think this was a slick little Obama/Soros operation to stick it to Putin while the Olympics were going on and he had to play nicey nice. A little pay back for Syria? Then Putin says I’ll be damned if I lose my bases in Crimea. Are we that stupid to think Putin would just walk away from Crimea? Then all we are left with from our brilliant “one move” strategy is to do the big indignant act. So the score is now: Obama zero Putin two.

Ya Dennis explain this
Putin’s invasion. Within scarcely a week after deposing the crook. Well orchestrated effort.Invaders fully briefed wearing camoflaged unmarked uniforms units .Russian government media has opponents portrayed as Nazis miss interpreting gold armbands with a cyrillic letter S (svoboda) (freedom) claiming the english viewers they are swastikas.Camp followers here defending Putin actions. Heavy armored unit suddenly assembled and off loaded by ferry . Totally preplanned.

Move comes as a surprize ? (sarc)

He was redistricted out of Congress in 2012 and has been a Fox contributor. Harder to be heard when in private life.

Kucinich is right. We had a hand in instigating the insurrection that toppled the Ukrainian regime.

I agree too. Yanukovich was democratically elected, and his police faced daily incineration from Molotov cocktails and incitement from armed neo-Nazi protesters.

I agree with him

I do too. I have no doubt that the CIA is fomenting this crap throughout the world. The problem is that the CIA is great at stirring stuff up, but incompetent in dealing with the aftermath.

It's also incompetent in picking its targets.

Well, you’ll fit in nicely with the rest of the blame-America-first crowd here. You mean the crowd of compulsive neocon "patriots" in here has not whined to the mods and gotten all of them banned? Shame on you.
