Like most 8-year-olds, Myles Eckert was already dreaming up ways he could spend a $20 bill he had just discovered laying in a Cracker Barrel parking lot earlier this month.
I kind of wanted to get a video game, but then I decided not to, the child recounted to CBS News.
Thats because Eckert saw Lt. Col. Frank Dailey enter the restaurant. The man in uniform changed his mind.
Why?
Because he was a soldier, and soldiers remind me of my dad, Eckert explained to CBS.

It's hard to imagine a world without a Dad. For me at least. Mine has been gone for what 6 years now but I think of him most every day. I also remember my Grandfather, who I only knew for several years until he passed. I think I was like 4 or 6 when he was gone. Faint memories I've held dear my whole life are all I have of Grandpa.
Very inspiring story. Thanks for posting it.
If only the politicians who send these men into harms way could realize, but of course they're not like us... They have cold hearts. For them it's all about fame and money. We the great unwashed know the hearts of little boys because they still live inside us.
Lord have mercy on us all.
