Obamacare Its a Tax
Theres no escaping it.
Restaurant chains in Florida are adding an Obamacare surcharge on customers bills.
So now you can see how much of your purchase is going to fund the Democrats Un-Affordable Care Act. CNN Money reported:
Several restaurants in a Florida chain are asking customers to help foot the bill for Obamacare.
Diners at eight Gators Dockside casual eateries are finding a 1% Affordable Care Act surcharge on their tabs, which comes to 15 cents on a typical $15 lunch tab. Signs on the door and at tables alert diners to the fee, which is also listed separately on the bill.
The Gator Groups full-time hourly employees wont actually receive health insurance until December. But the company said it implemented the surcharge now because of the compliance costs its facing ahead of the Affordable Care Acts employer mandate kicking in in 2015.
The costs associated with ACA compliance could ultimately close our doors, the sign reads. Instead of raising prices on our products to generate the additional revenue needed to cover the costs of ACA compliance, certain Gators Dockside locations have implemented a 1% surcharge on all food and beverage purchases only.
If the line above the aca surcharge does not get folks riled up, I doubt the aca part will.
That’s double charging because you are already paying Obamacare.
You could deduct the whole bill for your own Obamacare.
“If the line above the aca surcharge does not get folks riled up, I doubt the aca part will.”
Did the media tell people to be upset? If they didn’t hear it was bad from the media, it must not be bad.
We have a public that is disengaged, and often unable to analyze. The media thinks for them.
The line way above the ACA surcharge pisses me off.
Paying $2.49 for an iced tea. Grrrrr.
The power to tax is the power to destroy.

Just wait, the “Chili Cheese dog” will carry its own tax before long.
FL has no income tax, just sales tax.
and that sales tax is lower then many states with income tax
Pay the ACA and don’t tip. That should rile some folks. You can say it’s one or the other. Then too, I bet restaurant traffic will slow some.
Customers in restaurants, and other service industries where tips are usually given, can easily adjust their tips to make up for the ACA costs that are passed on to them (whether or not these costs appear as a separate line item on the bill).
It will be interesting to watch the chain reactions, as the economy adjusts to the financial shock of the ACA.
Guess he’s ripping off material from Heritage, huh?
That is a great idea. More businesses should do that.
1% — for now. But sure to increase over time. Most of the sheeple won’t even notice it.
The escape is easy. Unfortunately, it hurts the restaurants.
For my family it is a matter of principle. We grow as much of our own food as possible and use as little from our economy as possible as a way to starve the beast any way we can.

I bet you’re right. I won’t patronize an establishment that tacks on this charge.
I’ll be sure to deduct that surcharge from the tip. By far and large the voting block for Obama includes restaurant workers.
Crony FA$CI$M backed up by FORCE with the GE$TAPO IR$ - internal revenue of socialists and rubber-stamped by the U$$C - united socialists supreme court.
Porkchop/Hamburger Hill ALERT!
$ocialism Is Legal Plunder - Bastiat
At least, they don’t hide it in a price increase.
Makes perfect sense.
