ARIZONA GOVERNOR VETOES RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BILL

Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday vetoed a Republican bill that set off a national debate over gay rights, religion and discrimination and subjected Arizona to blistering criticism from major corporations and political leaders from both parties.

Brewer's decision defused a national furor over gay rights and religious freedom.

The bill backed by Republicans in the Legislature was designed to give added protection from lawsuits to people who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays. But opponents called it an open attack on gays that invited discrimination.

The bill thrust Arizona into the national spotlight last week after both chambers of the state legislature approved it. As the days passed, more and more groups, politicians and average citizens weighed in against Senate Bill 1062. Many took to social media to criticize the bill, calling it an attack on gay and lesbian rights.

Actually, employees get to do a job or quit. However, under the law, a religious person would not be forced to participate in something they believe God condemns. And honestly, if that means a Muslim butcher doesn’t sell bacon...I’ll go elsewhere, and gladly.

Let businesses and their owners follow their beliefs, and let customers follow theirs. Why does that bother you?

God is in charge, I’m not worried, just pissed!

Mostly well said.

But I've got to admit I'm worried.

Something wicked this way comes.

We’re not a free country. We are a cesspool where homosexuality is now exalted as being superior.

The 3% only has more power because so many normal people have fallen prey to indoctrination and political correctness. Political correctness is the adult version of peer pressure, something we teach our children to stand up against.

This was only possible because so many people are not founded in the truth of God’s word. They are like ships without rudders. When you are grounded in nothing, you will fall for anything.

Just five years ago Barack Obama - the Democratic presidential nominee and future president - announced his opposition to gay marriage. He was not called a hater, a homophobe, or a bigot. Now, opposing gay marriage will get you called all of those things, will bring denunciations from major corporations, denunciations from virtually all of the news media, and can even get you fined or jailed. How did this happen? How did the gay lobby become arguably the most powerful lobby in America?

Doesn’t look like it. I checked the actual votes on the bill that Berewer vetoed. In the Senate it passed 17-13. In the House 33-27. And now it looks like some of those yea votes are going wobbly.

Jan Brewer ceased being anything close to conservative a long time ago. Even so, I've read that the Bill was written in a way that made it risky to sign as it would give Muslims the right to deny all kinds of services to 'infidels' (non-Muslims). If so, I can understand why Brewer didn't sign it.

However, the leftmedia will, as always, play this a huge victory for 'gay rights' while ignoring the fact that citizen's religious convictions can be legally overridden without such a law (which needs to be carefully re-written and submitted to Governor Brewer.) Right now, it's a heads-they-win, tails-you-lose situation and not encouraging.

The unseemly rush by opportunistic politicians to give homosexuals all kinds of special rights that trump others rights cannot end well for America.

All Christian owned businesses need to post HUGE signs in their windows, promising that a good percentage of their proceeds will be donated to Christian charities as well as traditional marriage groups.

Cake bakers - make a scripture on every cake part of your “signature” decorating. Photographers, incorporate scripture into pictures as part of your art. There are ways to use this to proclaim God’s word, which will never be returned void.

The Republicans just keep getting dumped on and sold out by their own party...

Like political battered wives syndrome...The people keep getting kicked in the teeth, lied to and hoodwinked, but keep coming back for more and more, over and over....

Mebbe so, but the homos cannot set the price. A nice small 5x7” cake at $5000.00 sounds about right to me.

On one news show I was watching, they called it “Jim Crow for Gays!”.

We all know it wasn’t, but really, what is she supposed to do, in the face of such a media assault?

" . . . it would give Muslims the right to deny all kinds of services to 'infidels' (non-Muslims)."

Keep in mind that a Muslim who refused to provide service to non-Muslims would either go out of business very quickly or would end up serving only the Muslim community, in which case it wouldn't matter one bit to the general public. If he were a taxi driver, for example, he would go out of business and his business would be taken over by others.

“When 3 percent of the population has more power than the 97 percent of us, that is when you know America has gone to hell in a hand basket”

That “3%” now controls 80%+ of the media propaganda organs in America today, and has subjected the sheeple to an endless barrage of gay propaganda for over a decade now.

Just what the hell did you think was going to happen??

“Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.

In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.

Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
