I don’t get it. Why does the town care if she is hooked into their system or not?

So, she plugs into the grid and makes the city pay her for the electricity she doesn’t use. Right?
Seriously - this sucks.

"I don't have to justify my life. They have to. That's the way our system of justice works. They have justify it. I don't," Speronis said. Silly woman. She probably still believes she is innocent until proven guilty too. I wish her well, but I'm not optimistic when a petty bureaucrat with a trivial job goes after someone who has expressed their opinion on just how trivial their job is.

The real “crime” was that she was not paying into the municipal utility’s bank account. Thou shalt not deprive the gobberment of its revenue.

My only comment is if this woman wishes to live this way she’s stupid to do it within municipal corporate limits unless she likes conflict.
Its guaranteed to provoke municipal backlash.

"I don't have to justify my life. They have to. That's the way our system of justice works" Is she somehow of the wildly mistaken notion that she has some kind of Constitutional rights? Apparently she hasn't been properly re-educated.
