Harold Ramis was one of Hollywoods most successful comedy filmmakers when he moved his family from Los Angeles back to the Chicago area in 1996. His career was still thriving, with Groundhog Day acquiring almost instant classic status upon its 1993 release and 1984s Ghostbusters ranking among the highest-grossing comedies of all time, but the writer-director wanted to return to the city where hed launched his career as a Second City performer.
There's a pride in what I do that other people share because I'm local, which in L.A. is meaningless; no one's local, Ramis said upon the launch of the first movie he directed after his move, the 1999 mobster-in-therapy comedy Analyze This, another hit. It's a good thing. I feel like I represent the city in a certain way.

This is getting freaky. People I grew up with that looked young in the 80s are starting to die off at semi-old age. That’s when you start truly feeling old I guess. Damn this sucks.
SCTV > SNL...
Thanks for the laughs, R.I.P.

He was always the “second” as in a duel, the for support. But, I loved his casual humor. First noticed him in Stripes, which has always been my favorite.

Also co wrote Animal House and Caddyshack. What a loss to the world of comedy.

Vasculitis (plural: vasculitides)[1] is a group of disorders that destroy blood vessels by inflammation.[2] Both arteries and veins are affected. Lymphangitis is sometimes considered a type of vasculitis.[3] Vasculitis is primarily due to leukocyte migration and resultant damage.
Although both occur in vasculitis, inflammation of veins (phlebitis) or arteries (arteritis) on their own are separate entities.

Recruiter: Now, are either of you homosexuals?
John Winger: [John and Russell look at each other] You mean, like, flaming, or...
Recruiter: Well, it's a standard question we have to ask.
Russell Ziskey: No, we're not homosexual, but we are *willing to learn*.
John Winger: Yeah, would they send us someplace special?
Recruiter: I guess that's "no" on both. Now if you could just give Uncle Sam your autograph...
That movie still cracks me up.
Winger: C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into Wisconsin.
Russell: Well, I got the s**t kicked out of me in Wisconsin once. Forget it.
Growing up in Chicago we used that line all the time.
