Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will reportedly propose a Pentagon budget that will shrink the U.S. Army to its smallest number since 1940 and eliminate an entire class of Air Force attack jets.
The New York Times reported late Sunday that Hagel's proposal, which will be released to lawmakers and the public on Monday, will call for a reduction in size of the military that will leave it capable of waging war, but unable to carry out protracted occupations of foreign territory, as in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The only truly effective USAF jet to support Army ground operations (anti-vehicle/anti-tank/anti-chopper/anti-crew served weapons) and Obama to eliminate them.
Will significantly raise the ground forces injury/death rate...like Obama/Dems in DC could care.
One would think the extreme “Rules of Engagement” the troops are inflicted with, would be enough.
Guess not.
Obama/Dems want to make sure Americans suffer more deaths/injuries.

Was in combat in Vietnam and Cambodia and still has shrapnel in his chest from an exploding mine. Oliver North called Hagel a fake soldier on hannity.

Oh, good grief. Nobody in their right mind believed the troops we had in Europe at the height of the Cold War had a snowballs chance in hell of stopping a Soviet attack.

I don’t know if it will happen, but I wish this site was purged of those who cheerlead Obama’s destruction of our military. As far as I am concerned, they can all rot in hell and at the very least go corrupt someone else’s site. I hope Jim speaks up on this matter.

Exactly. It's a dangerous thing when the citizenry of a country has no comprehension of military strategy or history.
John Kerry and Jimmy Carter were in the military also. Does that mean they are conservatives, fighting for his Republic. No. They both are socialist liberals. So is Hagel. Just because he once fought for the nation does not make his a conservative, war hero. He is an enemy to the republic in my opinion and nothing is going to change that view. He is Obama man to smash the military to the core. Weaken the country. Forcing America to make concessions to Europe, China and Russia. Obama is not here to help this country. He is here to DESTROY it. That is my opinion and sticking to it. End of conversation.
I worked these many moons ago. A flying tank, triple redundant flight control and a titanium bathtub that protected the pilots from AAA.
They are also proposing to cut the U2, worked those also.
The F35 is too fast and can’t carry enough ordinance. I heard the plan is to rely on more helos for ground support.
Absolutely. Just make sure Australia, Israel, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea have time to develop and deploy their nuclear force.
It’s amazing how 70 years of relative world peace has caused some folks to think our military had nothing to do with it, and so we don’t need it anymore.
