Mountain Man Arrested for Trying to Feed Himself, owns judge.

In a packed courtroom, 52-year-old Ernie Tertelgte told the judge “I am a living man protected by natural law and I have the right to forage for food when I am hungry… You are trying to create a fictitious, fraudulent action.”

Charged with fishing without a license and resisting the arrest for fishing without a license, Mr. Tertegte says he’s being wrongly prosecuted for trying to feed himself.

I am not sure if the law has changed but it was always legal in Florida to fish with a cane pole without a license.

Due to my age, I have a lifetime hunting and fishing license for Florida. Technically I don’t even need the license, just proof of my age. Still it is simpler just to get the free license so you don’t have to worry about it.

This was like ... 6 months or so ago ... in Montana?
Or am I confusing it with something else?

“I am not sure if the law has changed but it was always legal in Florida to fish with a cane pole without a license.”

It was the same in Louisiana - fishing with a cane pole and a fixed line from the bank didn’t require a license. I don’t know that the slang term for it would be welcome here, but it suggested that the purpose was to allow minorities to feed themselves.

Pretty funny. I think the judge found the best way out of a no-win situation.

There’s something eerily soothing about watching this free man in action.

If I were the judge I would have stood up and solemnly read the relevant passages of the U.S Constitution that establishes the Judiciary, then the passages that establishes the regulatory authority, then pronounced him guilty, fine him $5.00 for resisting an investigation, then wrote him a fishing license in perpetuity by order of the court.

It's the Kings deer only up to the point of any actual liability on the part of state. As of late my experiences with GW's has become one where they believe they are overlord. About 5 years back I found a doe dead on my property. I called the wildlife services. They informed me the deer on my land was my problem not theirs. I said OK so in other words the deer on my land are mine and if I get hungry they are mine to take. Oh no replies GW they are the states. I said then you need to come pick up the remains of the states deer then. He said no it's on your property.

Another encounter was when I was Trout fishing in a local river. I had caught my limit and was cleaning them. Up walks GW and looks at the fish and says You need to pick up all the remains. {they were out in the water well away from where anyone fishes}. I said why they'll be gone after while the turtles, coons, and possums, will get them and the remains wont be wasted. He said Oh no the remains float downstream and people don't like seeing fish guts. BTW this was not on a recreational lake but a river below a dam. There were also geese, ducks, gulls, cranes etc to take care of the remains.

Another encounter back in more friendlier times I was letting the GW drop off deer on my place. I was talking to him about killing a Copperhead a week or so before. He informed me they were protected. I informed him when they are around my home they are dead.

DJ MacWoW, I don't have a clue how y'alls FReepathon Team does it but the graphics you people are making this quarter are 'the bomb' as my wife would say. I thank every one of you, and I know there are many, for your relentless and tireless efforts in keeping Free Republic alive, not to mention trying to keep our Country free from tyranny. I only wish that I could do more to help.
