SAN ANTONIO God must have had one heck of a powdered wig, or former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay would have made a lousy history teacher.
The Sugar Land Republican made news this week when he voiced his concern that the government is becoming secular because "we stopped realizing that God created this nation, that he wrote the Constitution, that it's based on biblical principles" during a recent television appearance with San Antonio Pastor Matt Hagee.
James Madison, the lead author of the United States Constitution and the fourth president of the United States who died in 1836, could not be reached for comment.

There are thousands. How can we mere mortals know which one is "the real one"?
A liberal is stupid enough to look at his navel and say, "Hey, look! I found something!"
“Do you think Madison and the others were really channeling God when they wrote the Constitution?”
I think DeLay was speaking metaphorically. Consider that the constitution was written by a bunch of fairly young (with a few exceptions) highly educated men of privilege. What were the odds that they would create such a document? And, George Washingtion, who would be King, but declined. What were the odds of that? And, consider the events, wars and battles that could have gone the wrong way, but did not. What were the odds of these? Personally, I do believe there is something to the notion that God has had his hand on the tiller in behalf of this country.

Right.
Only one has been affirmed by Christ.
People (imo) up until the end of WW2 pretty much formed opinions about things based on what they heard, read, saw etc.
The founders and writers of our early documents were learned men ... scholars in many fields and they all had a more than working knowledge of the Bible
If I decide sin is an affront to God and decide not to sin, am I channeling the Holy Ghost ?
Which one ?
Why ?
I agree with your grandfather.
Indeed we have. Having said that, God is not invented. He invented us. Big difference.
There are not thousands in the Bible. There is but one.
Definitely sounds like a question a liberal would ask...But, this nation was founded upon the God of the Bible and its principles and is one of the greatest in history. That is evidence our founders based the nation on the one, true God.
Or would you prefer the Hindu god and to drink cow urine and smear cow dung on your head or the Muslims god and the mass genocide and tyranny that occurs in Muslim nations?
Whatever anyone has to say about the guy. Here is a least one “establishment Republican” who knows that this is an issue and isn’t afraid to broach it.
The facts are in their 2012 convention the Democoms voted to remove any reference to God and when they found it would-n’t look good it was shoved back in their platform just like Obamacare. They booed the chair’s decision for ram-rodding the resolution back in.
But never fear AHs like Rove,Preibus, and the rest of the GOPES running the 2012 show as well as now never brought it up they were too busy looking for the demographics. They’re not smart enough to connect that position to the 10 commandments and why democrats (in name only) are such liars.
This is being reported by quite a few sources, and this article is mild compared to some others. Example.
He seemed to make it fairly clear that He had, at least, inspired it.
The fundamental source of all your errors, sophisms and false reasoning is a total ignorance of the natural rights of mankind. Were you once to become acquainted with these, you could never entertain a thought, that all men are not, by nature, entitled to a parity of privileges. You would be convinced, that natural liberty is a gift of the beneficent Creator to the whole human race, and that civil liberty is founded in that; and cannot be wrested from any people, without the most manifest violation of justice.
Alexander Hamilton The Farmer Refuted
Our Constitution might not have been written by God, but it was inspired by God.
John Adams— Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
1.Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
