Letter upsets city's Black History Month
Black History Month in Baltimore is a busy, busy time. Every aspect of black life in this city is remembered and celebrated: Black schools. Black music. Black movies. Black churches. Black literature. Black clothing. Black politicians. Even black trains.
Then Tracey Halvorsen had to go and spoil it all: She wrote an article about crime in Baltimore. How she and her mostly white neighbors live in fear. And no one seems to care. Or worse, lots of people think it is normal. Baltimore City,You Are Breaking My Heart, is going viral for an on-line magazine called Medium.com. A few quotes:
Im tired of being looked at like prey.
Im tired of thinking about the horrifying final moments for 51 year old neighbor, Kim Leto, stabbed to death in her own home by two teenagers.
Im tired of wondering why city leaders havent said s*** about recent horrific murders committed by children in supposedly safe neighborhoods.
Im tired of living next to a beautiful park that Im scared to walk into at any time of day, thanks to regular stories of day-time muggings, drug dealing and gang violence.

The audacity is unreal....for him to think he had to right to touch you in that manner.
I was at the Kroger store, and a white guy---absolutely filthy, in coveralls that would have stood alone---reached out for my hair, saying it was like his girlfriend's. I moved back and said, "You do NOT touch me." He mumbled something about not meaning any harm.
That is an exact parallel to the clean kid/dirty kid analogy. Hot Topic has “rubbed off” on Spencers.
Exactly right. But if the woman stands her ground, looks him in the eye, and gives him a response he doesn't like, he'll know he doesn't have someone he can intimidate. In my case, I got cursed, but the guy walked away.
.......reading this liberal woman’s article says more about all the gears in millions of liberal minds that are rusted and just don’t work than anything else I have ever read before.
My God Woman!!!!!!!.........MOVE!!!!!!!!!! Duuh! Ever heard of the word “reality” while attending your little liberal arts classes.
Your little shangri-la in Baltimore exists ONLY IN YOUR RUSTED MIND!!!!
Guess what?! There hasn’t been a murder of any kind in my zip code probably EVER!!! Certainly not in the past 65 years.
Let the fng gangsta blacks and their partner Democrats have that zip code and MOVE!!!! Blaming whitey is working for them for now, but, as Detroit found, it won’t work forever!
One day, there will be a civil war which will clean it all up and you can move back.........to what’s left.
“Are people allowed to carry those in Baltimore?”
Depends on what your definition of “allowed” is!
That’s why I put the scare quotes around allowed. ;^)
You’re setting out the exact reason virtually every inner-city became uninhabitable for middle class whites. Going back to the 50s, whites fled cities for the ‘burb, forfeiting our great cities.
Interestingly, within the past few years, Washington DC, of all places, has crept into being a (slightly) white majority city. Millennials have moved into the city in droves, gentrifying formerly unsafe neighborhoods and making them very expensive. Blacks who’d lived there for generations have been forced out and into one of the surrounding suburban counties. Ye olde Pendulum swings.
Soooo, what did YOU say?
My response would have been I love dark meat JUST NOT YOURS!!
Now get the hell out of my face!!!
That wasn't even clever. Meat is referred to as "white meat" and "dark meat."
That's good, really good!
I'm sure a lot of folks felt that way in 1775. But they DID NOT give up!
the ‘60s are over, but attitude-wise not in many big city urban black communities; it’s as if some prefer what seems like near “segregation”, fearing a loss of identity without it, and they have had a lot of help from Marxist/Progressive/Liberal thinkers, writers and speakers assisting in acquiring those attitudes
the attitude combines race and entitlement and in a good many indiviuals helps generate a use of the two together to excuse levls of crime among their own community that other communities will not
Welcome to a part of the USA.
Welcome to the cities that are and have been under democrat political control. Welcome to the out of control violent entitlement mentality where many of the young are uneducated, out of control feral beings. Welcome to this inner city culture that laughs when old white men are sucker punched and maimed and killed. Welcome to the world of animals who think that this is just sport. Then there is the rest of our country, literally the other half of the population that lives on the other 80% of our lands. We are open and loving and enjoy our rights and take care of our responsibilities. We are the Americans who respect our laws and human life. We are independent and self-sustaining. We are the Americans that the rest of the world has been looking up to and envying for the last century.
Carlsbad CA is another white enclave. One night at dinner I looked around and it was like the country I grew up in. They vote for Issa there.
That being said, I work with a lot of great people, some happen to have been born with darker skin than others. The difference is it’s not a political belief system for them.....they got their educations, work hard to succeed and support their families. It makes me sad that they probably experienced discrimination because of their skin color but they got past it. Almost all of us have to overcome something in life. So....it’s mostly the rat enablers, not the skin color.
what is it with “african american” quotes on your post? Do you lib white guilt and cannot simply place “black” in your post?
If you to back to the original site, you'll see that Ms. Halvorsen reposted a revised version of her article, including some (generally PC) responses to her critics.
Note that for all of uproar, Ms. Halvorsen never identifies any of the criminals as being black.
I probably said I already had a boyfriend............
We are subject to God's law and the constitution, not traitors who would betray our rights.
So, yeap.
Looked him in the eye and asked him what he was going to do about it if I didn’t. I got cursed out, but he left.
I’m not brave, I just have a temper.
