Groupon Celebrates Presidents Day by Honoring Alexander Hamilton (Idiots think he was president!)
Market Watch ^ | February 14, 2014

Posted on 02/15/2014 3:00:30 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Starting tomorrow, Groupon ( www.groupon.com ) (NASDAQ: GRPN) will be kicking off Presidents Day weekend by giving customers 10 dollars off 40 dollars when they purchase a deal for any local business. The $10 bill, as everyone knows, features President Alexander Hamilton -- undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country’s financial system.

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 15 at 9 am CST, shoppers will be able to redeem this offer by using the promo code “10OFF40LOCAL”, which isn’t very catchy, but neither was President Hamilton’s famous saying, “nobody expects to trust his body overmuch after the age of fifty.” (continued)

If true, what does that make Salmon P. Chase?

Dead?

One of the best presidents we never had. Ben Franklin was even better.

I pick President Dewey.

Dead?

Yes, but that is a prerequisite to get your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone US money...

Sorry, must be old age creaping up on me... ;-)

With Davy Crockett as his Vice President, the two men went on to create the Boone & Crockett standard for evaluating the antlers of deer.

Don't forget that line of fine wines!

Well hey, a kid I worked with asked me if Wyoming was a state.

Education is not what it used to be.

I can beat that one. A young girl in my office once swore that Alaska was south of Texas. When I challenged her on this, she told me it was so because she saw it that way on her high school USA map.

That reminds me of the song about Vice President Davy Crockett:

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee,
Greenest state in the land of the free.
Raised in the woods so he knew every tree,
Got served in a bar when he was only three.

No.

The word now is that this was a brilliant marketing ploy.

The world "trolling" comes up.

Would we actually be talking about Groupon if they hadn't done this?

Three years back during the Superbowl they pulled another stunt: Groupon Trolls the Super Bowl With 'Controversial' Ads.

They know what they're doing and they're the one's laughing loudest.

That was only when Salmon smoked.

That's true, and now all the smoking sections are outright banned...

I know and I think we need to change that and replace some of these long dead people with more freshly dead people.

Andrew Johnson was indeed impeached, but the senate failed to convict him, just like Bill Clinton.

Just ask Tim Tingles Matthews

I'm sure in the Tingles world, A. Jackson was impeached. The historical FACT that points to A. Johnson as the real impeachee is insignificant in his world... ;-)

Before he was King of the Wild Frontier, Boone wore a coonskin hat.

I have a coonskin hat. Once Daniel Boone became president, he attached an extra tail to his coonskin hat.

The people loved him as their favorite and best president....E-VAH!
