"Detroit: Brought to you by the UAW" don't pass the laugh test. Laugh at this - for the last 30 years - ALL major new car manufacturing plants have been built in right-to-work states...

example: "Detroit: Brought to you by the UAW" don't pass the laugh test
Gee, I found it substantially truthful and rather pithy.

This is an old story and dated news. The UAW lost in its attempts to unionize the plant. I do find it funny that Volkswagon seemed to encourage the unionization of its workforce.

Three day “election”. LOL! Getting 1500 people to vote can be tough. What a joke. All the union thugs have to do is call for another vote and then bust the kneecaps and fingers of less than 100 workers and they can pull out their raid on employees paychecks for their ‘RAT masters.

Corker may have violated U.S. labor laws by attempting to intimidate workers into voting against the UAW.
Corker is a U. S. Senator, not a VW manager. Nothing he publicly says as a Senator could be construed as intimidation under the law. If it were ofherwise, lefty Senators could make threats to invaldate votes right and left for the fun of it.

VW wants to set up a "works council" at the plant like those at every VW plant except Chattanooga's and two in China and in order to do that under U.S. law, the Tennessee workers have to have a union. Why is it necessary to have a union in order to have a "workers council"?

Ubama didn't pack the NLRB with Alinskyites and break his promise to the GOPe by making Richard F. Griffin, Jr. its General Counsel just to let something like this stand.
This will be undone. VW will be a union shop.
Next stop... Walmart.

The billboards warning that unionization will turn Chattanooga into a postindustrial wasteland example: "Detroit: Brought to you by the UAW" don't pass the laugh test. That's correct. Those with any familiarity with what an outstanding city it was in the 50's (and even 60's) *and* understands what Detroit has become today doesn't laugh.
They weep.

This was a great win for the right to work and a big defeat for Obama and his pro union commie thug buddies. VW was probably smart with their so called neutral stand.

"A vote for unionization at Volkswagen would be a historic victory not only for the UAW, but for the entire labor movement," says John Logan at Reuters. lol. So what would a loss be? "Yesterday's news" according o the lefties.
