DirecTV recently announced it will drop the Inspiration Network from its lineup, leaving its stable of profane and worldly channels untouched. Incredibly, reports indicate the provider also misrepresented the development by suggesting the network initiated the split.
In reality, it appears the decision was wholly that of the provider. Perhaps the most baffling aspect of the decision lies in the fact that DirecTV did not gain anything or save any money by dropping the network.
Unlike the majority of channels carried by the company, the Inspiration Network does not charge a license fee to providers. Many failing networks cost carriers millions per year, however, and still remain prominent options in cable packages across the nation.
For example, DirecTV spends an estimated $25 million annually to carry Islamic news network Al Jazeera. Christian content the company received for free, however, was somehow deemed unacceptable.

This is one reason we need a la carte television.
That’s true. They also carry The Virginian, High Chaparral, and other older westerns, which I did enjoy watching.
I wouldn’t jump ship yet. DirecTV still offers a lot of Faith based programing:
GTV - God TV
JLTV - Jewish Life Television
WHT - World Harvest Television
DSTR - Daystar
EWTN - Global Catholic Network
TCC - The Church Channel
TBN - Trinity Broadcast Network
WORD - The Word Network
CTN - Christian Television Network
TCT
NRB
Correct. My wife watched all those programs. But when it went away, I went to their web site to find out why and DirecTV said Insp simply did not renew, that they did not drop Insp.
I dont even have a television “set” anymore. Given what i read about being on television thats likely just as well.
Each party is pointing to the other so who knows whom to believe?
Also 375, which is Link TV---a leftwing loon channel.
don’t know anything about the individual channels
I would sssume pressure from the Al Jazeera folks and from Washington.
I would assume pressure from the Al Jazeera folks and from Washington.
This is why we need a la carte TV.
I don’t think Verzion FIOS would drop Inspiration network I do watch it sometime but mostly I been watch regular OTA channels like ME TV Antenna TV on my regular tv set in the bedroom
I doubt EWTN network would get drop by anybody that would tick off Latino Cathoics especially in Los Angeles
People go Raider fan on Customer service
Well, you mentioned one exception, and I added the other.
Just scanned the programs on at the time and one was medical.
LOL!
I don't think EWTN will be dropped, either.
That’s OK. I dropped DTV years ago.
Yeah you got that right
I know Latino Cathoics here in SO CAL they would go Raider fan on customer service line LOL!
Is this the same DirectTV that just dropped The Weather Channel? I don’t subscribe to any cable, so don’t know one from the next, but TWC (where I’ve visited frequently this Winter) is still crying over being dropped.
My guess that it was dropped because DirecTV raised the charge for carring it, just like it raised what it charged the Weather Channel. When the Inspiration people, like the Weather Channel, refused to pay the higher fee, they were dropped by DirecTV. I expect that AlJezerra also pays DirecTV and not vice-versa.
