I do have one thought about all of this, there was the comment about a source of ignition in relation to the pipeline. I'm just guessing that the pipeline had a leak, possibly from one of the valves that are visible from the road and that one of the nearby homes had a fire going possibly in an outside 'boiler' that are fairly common here for providing heat to nearby buildings.
Add fuel source, (natural gas), and an existing fire and you get a major explosion like this one.
As a further FYI, this pipeline also had an over-pressure event that we could hear miles away last year. The shriek of escaping gas through an over-pressure valve is very unnerving, let me tell you.
We had a gas line explosion near me last spring. A truck driver ran over an exposed valve near a well.
So you’re saying this was not the anti-hydrocarbon regime causing this to make their 3rd world point?
Well, damn! Couple this with the sink hole that swallowed eight (8) classic, and irreplaceable, Corvettes, at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky...79 miles away. Coincidence?
Sorry... no coincidences.
Anything now would be speculation, I know some of the volunteer firefighters who were called out and I pay fire dues to that department too. So if there is anything out of the ordinary I’ll post it.
Anything more than that would be simple guesses at this point.
Pronounced “niff-lee”?
Yep, pronounced Niff-Ley.
