The House of Representatives, by a narrow margin, on Tuesday passed clean legislation raising the government's borrowing authority for one year in order to avoid a default that was looming at the end of this month.
By a vote of 221-201, the House passed the bill, adhering to President Barack Obama's demand that it have no unrelated conditions attached. With House passage, the bill now goes to the Senate, where debate could begin on Wednesday.
Only 28 of the House's 232 Republicans voted for the measure, leaving Democrats to provide most of the votes for passage.
Republican Speaker John Boehner allowed the vote, ignoring factions of his party that called for tying the measure to defunding of Obamacare and including benefits for military retirees.
Boehner acknowledged before the vote that Democrats would need to back the measure, which would get minimal Republican support.
"Well let the Democrats put the votes up," Boehner said, adding that he had spoken to Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, who told him there will be enough Democratic support to pass the measure.

RINO-Dem Coalition or Uniparty?
Just imagine how much further down the river he can sell us in that time.
Hi Johnny,
Yup I know. I have been arguing with several lesser evil/no matter what morons. As usual.
Yup. They do. Or we spend another season of chaos letting them disrupt any progress toward BEGINNING to fix this mess. We’ll see what happens.
how many will it take to do that? minus the 28 who kissed his ass and pissed on their constituents.
On the other hand, what I see is the GOP "leadership" voting against their overwhelmingly opposed caucus to pass a bill bad for America.
It's like Patton and his Third Army being in support and running interference for von Rundstedt to break open the Bulge line at Bastogne so the Germans could sweep through Belgium to the sea.
Just whose side are these "leaders" on?
It's time for a real housecleaning. Throw the bastards out.
Jane Long posted this earlier and I believe that she’s on target: “If 15 Republicans refuse to vote for John Boehner when the new Congress begins in January, he won’t have the votes to be re-elected and House Republicans will be forced to pick someone else for the job.”
I’m pretty sure that Louie Gohmert and Steve Stockman would be good to go on this. I’m betting that there are many other, too. Boehner is killing the House GOP with his nonsense.
Thanks so much!
Why should they? There is plenty of “staunch conservatives right here that say they’ll vote for the Republican “no matter what”.
Eventually the rest of us have to accept the fact that until we act cohesively, these fools will just keep doing what they do knowing full well they can do whatever whim takes their fancy.
Cuz the ‘no matter what’ conservatives are proud to pull their lever. Of course, few want to admit their online pals are just as much the problem that Bhoner is. But they are the ones empowering him.
Some of those No votes were fake.
The ratings groups should suspend counting some fake votes as part of their ratings.
Is Boehner also going to “come out” before the NFL draft?
(as a Liberal/Progressive/Democrat, or a member if the minor Royalty Elite?)

Howard Coble???
I know you are older than dirt man, but I could have had the same crap from Brad Miller...What the hell happened to your sharp pencil...what a disappointment.
We have no representation.
I am sickened and disgusted.
Notice there are no Texas RINOs on your list.
We defeat them, just like we will defeat Cornyn next month in primary.
“who the next HOR speaker would be?
I wish it was Louie Gohmert
Unless I am wrong, here is a link to the list of the Roll Call vote:

Notice the Bill Title is wrong. The Title stating, ‘To designate the air route traffic control center located in Nashua, New Hampshire, as the Patricia Clark Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center
The bill to name the air traffic control center in New Hampshire was actually the bill voted on before the debt ceiling bill.
I’m sure it was an innocent mistake to misname the Debt Ceiling bill Roll Call. /s

Whip List
Call House Republicans and urge them to replace John Boehner as Speaker. They control who leads the House and they’re ultimately responsible for his actions.
TOTAL REPUBLICANS WHO SUPPORT REPLACING THE SPEAKER = 10
Rep Gohmert is a YES. He’s one of 10.
I already called PETE OLSON (TX-22). Waiting to hear back. I won’t wait long though.
I did make it plain that he needs to step up.
Darrell Issa voted yes.
Who were the 28 turncoats? I want names.
“”The bottom line is we need to get our work done,” Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions, a Texas Republican, told reporters Tuesday after a private party meeting.”
I have a question for Mr. Sessions. What do you and the rest of the Republican leadership consider to be “your work”. Clearly it isn’t representing the American people or trying to obstruct the tyranny.
