A 70-year-old nurse, who was described by her co-worker as a sweet old lady, was knocked to the floor and beaten repeatedly in the head until she was unconscious. The attacker was the patient for whom she was caring.
On Friday afternoon, Evelyn Lynch was taking out the catheter of 40-year-old Kwincii Jones as she was preparing to discharge him from Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. Police reported that Jones struck the nurse on the head and kicked her in the face, causing serious injuries. I actually hear she was a sweet old lady, a Brookdale employee told CBS 2. Thats why its a little weird to me because I dont know why it would happen. Its not like she was mean or anything like that.

I’d have put it back in.....somewhere.
Has anything either one of you has posted done anything to punish the thug or prevent someone else from being a thug?
I am not sure I understand your question at all. Since I dont live in Brooklyn, what do you want us to do? You could extrapolate your argument to a situation in which a child is murdered. We all can state our outrage, but we are not going to be able to catch the murderer. So, I dont understand where you are coming from at all.
Your self righteous outrage has accomplished exactly nothing of benefit for the nurse, the thug or anyone else. Not one positive thing whatsoever. All you have done is to sow dissension on the forum which is the common result of all politically correct mush-headed liberal compassion.
My self righteous outrage? You have no idea what you are talking about. How about you work in a job in which you get bitten, your wrists twisted. sworn at, had things thrown at you? You are not a nurse, and have no idea what you are talking about. I take umbrage at people who are making jokes about a 70 year old nurse stomped on her head. Do you in your job have a daily risk assessment rounds in which everyone discusses which patient or family might pose a physical threat to staff? Well, I participate in those rounds. I will damn well sow dissension when people diss on the good guys- like this nurse- instead of focusing their anger on the bad guys. We are supposed to be on the side of the good guys. To defend this creep, and make jokes against this nurse is wrong. If that makes me liberal, then you must be in outer space .
No one made jokes about or against the nurse. No one defended the beating of the nurse. If you weren’t such a humorless politically neurotic basket case you could see that. You have done nothing to benefit the profession of nursing with your absurd posts.
I have come to the conclusion that you are a thug lover. Go to a liberal website- like Huff Po. You can be with all the thug lovers. The positive thing that I brought into this discussion is don’t make a joke about a 70 year old who got beaten. Is FR going to joke about children getting raped or murdered next ? Is that what you want?Is FR going down that same pathway? No one can defend the defenseless?
The post in question was removed. That was what got me riled up.
There's a quarter. Go buy yourself a sense of humor.
I think you’re nuts.
I think your posts speak for themself. You want to allow joking about an elderly woman getting beaten, and I am against that. Let everyone draw their conclusion on who is nuts. I think you lose. Big time.
Of course they do and so do yours. No one made any jokes condoning the beating of an elderly nurse. Get a life.
There was a joke. It was removed. I thanked the person for removing it.That person did the right thing. You , in your persistence, think that jokes in bad taste are okay. Go beat up on someone else. You are looking bad in this. You are condoning jokes about the assault of elderly women- don’t you see that? You are looking like a fool. Stop it now. Otherwise, everyone here is going to think you are a psycho. You should not be in this forum, and no one should take you seriously if you codone jokes about elderly women getting beat up.
It was a joke. So are you.
No hint as to motive...
Actually, violence against nurses is an issue. Just about any nurse can tell you stories. It’s been worse in recent years.
Remember when one of the Kennedy’s kicked a nurse in the abdomen when he tried to take his newborn infant out of the hospital without going through protocol.
