WASHINGTON – House Speaker John Boehner, in an abrupt shift, announced Tuesday that the House would vote on an increase in the nation's borrowing cap without any strings attached.

A senior House GOP leadership source told Fox News that the vote is expected Tuesday night.

Boehner's decision to proceed with a "clean" debt-ceiling bill amounts to a capitulation by Republicans to President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats who argued that the GOP should not attempt to use the bill as leverage to extract concessions from the administration.

Do we want to keep the focus on Obamacare or allow Obama to use the debt ceiling vote as a shiny thing to distract people away from his “masterpiece”?

Yes, if we had another confrontation over this, Obamacare would be out of the news maybe for weeks.

Correct. That’s all this is. Let’s take Congress in the Fall and then we can start screaming if they do nothing.

The GOP is focused on nothing right now except tip toeing to November. McConnell has already told us we have to wait until 2016 to battle Obamacare. Given that statement, I plan on doing the same and waiting until 2016 to support the GOP.

The quisling was just sound bited on the news here: Obama will not agree to a debt deal with attachments. Let the dems make him do it.

Does he really think we are all chumps? Yup.

Unexpected! Not. Voting tonight. Take a look at the weather forecast for D.C. Every denizen of Capital Hill will be "unavailable for comment" as they use the in the ensuing snow storm to scurry for cover. Sickening cowardice and dereliction of duty on display.

It's not Boehner's fault.

It's no Republican's fault.

It's solely the fault of the media.

They control almost all of the information-dispensing process in this country. No matter what happens, they will find a way to fault Conservatives and aid Liberals.

Turds in the media sit and laugh at us conservatives because all we're doing is causing strife within our own.

We have to find some way to get the public to realize that the cause of all their problems is the media, and their acting as cheerleaders for the Left.

Wrong. A leader leads. He doesn’t follow media dictates.

Boehner backs down,

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.

The media do not force John Boehner to ignore the IRS scandal. He CHOOSE to do that. He simply doesn’t care that our Constitutional rights are being violated.

It’s silly to blame the media for the failings of the GOP. They simply have no interest in being an engaged opposition party while Obama is in the WH.

Boehner is making easier and easier for me to justify sitting out the November uniparty election.

I agree. The republicrats will lose again. They stand for nothing!! They capitulate at the hint of media prodding. 4 million of us stayed home with that socialist Romney on the ticket— you can count that as doubling in ‘16. Jeb Bush my foot.I vote Tea Party ONLY now— no more wasting my vote on people I hate.

Boner may have backed down on his rhetoric, but he never intended to do anything else.

With a name like “Boner” you would think he would be on top instead of being Obama’s bottom boy. His name should be “Candeaus.” The correct pronunciation [ kan-dee-as ].

Bohner is a loser and there is no such thing as a ‘clean’ debt-limit hike.

Boner is not a doormat. He’s in on the whole thing. His role is to move the R left, to grown government, to enrich himself. He’s used aggressive, cunning tactics to accomplish it.

You’re wrong about feckless and dumb. They know exactly what they’re doing. Well, the leadership anyway. That’s true of the rank and file.

A few of us get a lot of crap for saying that the GOPe is every bit as bad as the dems. But to date, no one has pointed out the benefit of electing someone with an R attached when they stand for exactly the same liberalism. If they didn’t, common sense tells you they’d be opposing the Dems. They arent. They capitulate. REPEATEDLY.

At this point, I have no issue saying that anyone supporting them is supporting Democrats.

Replace the Speaker

Republicans in the House of Representatives are preparing to support yet another increase in the national debt limit and they're not even trying to do anything to balance the budget or stop Obamacare.

Republicans are giving up because they know that winning is impossible when their leaders are determined to lose. These leaders have telegraphed weakness to the Democrats and sabotaged conservative efforts so many times that Republicans now have no leverage. There's only one solution.

John Boehner must be replaced as Speaker of the House.
