Sen. Rand Paul, who represents Kentucky, said his home state of Texas could easily switch from a Republican stronghold to a Democratic voting block if the GOP doesnt open its arms and take in more working class and more minorities.
Texas will be a Democratic state within 10 years if you dont change, he said at a Houston dinner with Sen. John Cornyn, CNN reported. That doesnt mean we give up on what we believe in, but it means we have to be a more welcoming party. We have to welcome people of all races. We need to welcome people of all classes business class, working class.

Sounds like Rand Paul is laying the groundwork for getting Dennis Rodman to join the GOP.
I believe I would qualify under those auspices...;-)
And I have NO regrets whatsoever...
We do what is minimally required: we're indifferent on principle.
But just because the government should be indifferent doesn't mean we ought to be socially indifferent.
The problem is that the GOP strategy for "growing their Hispanic base" inevitably boils down to de facto amnesty for illegals (I don't care if you want to call it "path to citizenship", it is what it is), liberalized immigration law, and support for multiculturalism.
In other words, the GOP strategy of appealing to minorities is to become more like the Democrats.
Texas is the lynch pin. Texas goes purple, then the conservative movement is dead.
Conservative texans BEST be getting out the vote or we’ll end up with a liberal senator, a tramp/gold digger for a governor and a lound mouth cow for a lutienent gov.
If you remember it, you weren't there. I knew a couple of Warrant Officers who would try to drink one another under the table and the first one that passed out got a tattoo of the other's choice. That game ended...badly...
Never got one myself. I wanted "USN" but the tattoo artist said he could only fit "S" on my manly bicep. I get no respect.
If voters don’t believe in the Conservative message like Smaller Government, Best Armed Forces, Tax Reform, Less Regulation, The Constitution & Rule of Law, it doesn’t matter what the voters look like!
I saw an article last year that showed two out of three new Texas Hispanic voters were registering Republican. Rand should do some research before speaking.
We need to have people with ties and without ties, with tattoos and without tattoos, with earrings without earrings,
Hey Rand, I don’t think it’s the EAR rings anyone is worried about.
Rand is essentially saying that the Republican party doesn't welcome people of all races, which is the same dispicable lie the Democrats have been telling for my entire life.
Thanks for carrying the enemy's water, Rand.
As a Texan, our Bubbas many have tattoos but they also have their hunting rifles and shotguns ready to use and they don’t like “no sticking govn.” men messing around Texas”. Perhaps our “working class” is different than other states. I don’t think they like Hussein one bit.
And how do you plan to attract more minorities? Promise more government handouts or support amnesty for illegals?
What really needs to be done is to curtail the power of the various alphabet agencies to destroy jobs and give people a chance to work their way out of poverty.
All the e-GOP and LSM spout the same thing. You have to be a Dem, or sleep with a Dem to win an election. I’ve decided I don’t care about winning. I’m tired. Oh, but not voting is a vote for a Dem. Voting for and e-GOP is a vote for a Dem.
The GOP-e seems to be launching their FR infiltration campaigns earlier and earlier, it seems.
Cornyn needs to count his blessings that he will be able to, more than likely, buy another 6 years in Washington D.C.
Otherwise I could do without his feckless ass...And if I get a chance, I would say that to his face...
I plan on doing what I can to go to the state convention later this year...There are a few people I want to address a thing or two with...
I’m not going to be well liked either...And I could give a [expletive deleted]
Vote Republicans and we’ll let you bang our daughters. It’s true, just ask the speaker of the House.
Yeah. Maybe we should see if we can get Dennis Rodman to switch sides and become a GOP spokesman. /s
What do you mean? It is the GOP-e that is under the idea that they don’t need to change. Rand Paul, love or loathe the guy, is about as far from GOP-e as you can get. Seriously, if he is GOP-e, then who, save for possible Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, would not also qualify as GOP-e?
So much for you people that were putting your hopes in Paul. “More Welcoming” is just code for amnesty.
