A father who punched a drug dealer after seeing him attack a vulnerable woman in the street has been jailed - but the pusher won't be prosecuted because he was so badly hurt. Father-of-one Carl Neale, 23, floored the dealer with a single punch after shouting at him to stop hitting the terrified woman....[snip]...Neale, also from Nuneaton, was jailed for six years on Friday after Coventry Crown Court heard the drug dealer had been left fighting for his life.

I don’t know current figures, but pre-Giuliani, NYC average sentence for illegal possession of a firearm when killing someone was 3.8 years; 5.3 years if you didn’t kill anyone.

Behind the headline:

He delivered a second head shot after the guy was on the ground. If the guy's head was on the concrete when struck, it could be consistent with the diagnosis of brain damage.

He might have avoided the bodily harm rap, but there is also this:
Neale admitted one count of causing grievous bodily harm, as well as charges of dangerous driving, assault with intent to resist arrest, attempted burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and two counts of driving whilst disqualified.

Sounds like the sentence was a service to the community.

I saw an interview with a Scotsman who was managing a city golf course.

The interview was about golf but somehow a bit of politics got in and the guy said labor unions had ruined Scotland. I suspect it is more than that but they probably have their share of responsibility.

If anybody is naive enough to think this same thing doesn't happen all the time U.S. you are an idiot. If an honest citizen defends himself against a drug dealer or street thug the politicians and courts often take the side of the thug. Especially if the politicians are liberal Democrats.

Look at the Zimmerman Trayvon Martin case. Martin was a street thug and criminal looking to break into homes. Zimmerman as a neighborhood patrol volunteer followed him. Martin ambushed Zimmerman and punched him leaving Zimmerman on the ground. Martin then jumped on Zimmerman and began beating him.

If it is between and honest citizen and a criminal street thug the politicians will take the side of the criminal.

Another misleading headline. Actually he didn`t get six years just for punching the dealer:

“Neale admitted one count of causing grievous bodily harm, as well as charges of dangerous driving, assault with intent to resist arrest, attempted burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and two counts of driving whilst disqualified.”

Being the Daily Mail they didn`t bother to come up with that bit of information until the very end of the article.

That’s incredibly f’d up, unless perhaps the dealer is a 95 pound weakling and the guy who bashed him is huge and could have just pushed him away. Even then.. fruit of the poisoned tree—the dealer was committing an assault.

Not surprising. In the UK criminals are let off with no jail time but if one tweets something a lefty doesn’t like one will get jail time.

I don’t care, I would still kick the punks behind. God would judge me and that matters more than the pathetic human injustice called law.
