And why is it that the conservatives are always the ones expected to compromise? Why don’t the GOPe blueblood northeast progressives agree that it’s time for their wussy candidates to stand down for an election cycle so a real American constitutional limited-government conservative can have a shot?

Maybe Reince Priebus can answer that one...

I did in fact vote against Clinton both times. I don’t see why that should be considered a less legitimate vote. I’m not really criticizing anyone for not voting, I’m just saying the Democrats are going to win every time if many of us choose that option.

"Then you’re voting for Hillary."

=============================================

Party over principle is the reason the GOP is at war with the Tea Party, with your full approval.

I did in fact vote against Clinton both times.

False fact.

You did in fact vote for one of his opponents.

It's a light switch, on or off. There's no "against."

It's why both times Clinton was elected, a majority of Americans voted "against" him! {^) And that worked to the advantage of the right.

Don’t want another Bush, ever. But I want this communist and his communist friends and cronies out of the white house even more.

What a RINO. Crying in his beer that Christie has been eliminated from contention already. Gag...

Are we really better off with Obama than we would have been with Romney?

I'd rather face an avowed enemy before me, than be stabbed in the back by a quisling like Romney any day.

I would hold my nose and vote for Christie or even Romney again nut smother damned Bush

If you would really do that, then the last few election cycles have taught you nothing.

The more you keep holding your nose and voting RINO, the more the GOP-e is going to keep putting up RINOs for you to vote for. Call it a positive reinforcement loop. We're never going to change that until we stop giving RINOs our vote.

Romney wasn't "a little too liberal." Romney was literally on the activist wrong side of every crucial issue and principle, from forced acceptance of homosexual norming, to government-run health care.

Funny how some people think that our memories are too short to remember Romney's uber liberal record as Governor of Massachusetts.

During the last election cycle, I posted Romney's dubious record here dozens of times. Before that, JimRob spent years educating Freepers about the turd.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I can only control myself and what I do. I can’t control what the GOP does.

Actually, I like Romney. He’s not perfect but for a lot of folks on this thread, no one is. Palin is some sort of pure goddess that quit her job in Alaska and has run for anything since. She’s not going to run so get over it.

The only way Jeb wins the nomination is if conservatives do a circular firing squad with three or four acceptable Conservative candidates in the mix. If that happens...............

You may count on it. Nothing's changed since the last primaries.

Another article tonight on F.R. said that Romney is considering running.

But the price makes it a losing proposition even if you win. The price guarantees that the next "communist and his communist friends" on the Democrat side will be even worse. Every time Republicans put in a liberal, the Democrat to follow is exponentially worse than the last Democrat.

There has to be a better way. A smarter way.

I'd rather face an avowed enemy before me, than be stabbed in the back by a quisling like Romney any day.

Even worse, Romney would tip the power balance of statist principled folks in Washington, R and D, to the critical left. Left Republicans and Democrats would outnumber Right Republicans (limited government Rs). In the Republican structure, they would become neutered.

The only way limited government Rs can become stronger is for statist left Rs to lose, every time. I know that shocks and angers a lot of folks, but ... it doesn't care; it happens anyway.

Windflier, I think you and I go back long enough -- there was a time when I didn't think this way, when I'd vote for the leftist R "lesser of evils." I voted for Arnold with enthusiasm and my eyes wide open. If I had it to do over again ...

Interesting times, my FRiend.

If Romney's in --

-- I'm out.

I want to vote "against" everything Romney stands for. Name me one thing Romney actually stands for, promotes, had advanced, that hasn't been expanding government intrusion into morality, personal health -- and don't give me his empty prattle about business and enterprise. The man is demonstrated as looking to government regulation for every solution. You can vote for that if you want to. If I wanted to vote for that, I'd be a Democrat.

If what Romney has been and is, passes for you as "Republican," then one of us is in the wrong party.

No one is looking for a perfect candidate. There are no "purists." There are a LOT of people accusing others of looking for a perfect candidate and of being purists.

This guy Linker is an idiot.

Neither Cristi or Jeb Bush could win and it would be a waste of money for people to contribute to either of them.

They are both liberals in RINO clothing and only have support in the Northeast and amnesty communities.
