Then most likely, he's a goner.

Sad to say, I am not feeling sorry for him one bit.

THAT is what he intended to do to others.

Then he better get ready to meet the real "Great Satan". He sure won't be needing to take any gasoline with him. Regards to Mohammad!

Eternity! Smoking or nonsmoking? Everyone has a choice. Ol' Saamer made a very wrong choice in his religious affiliation.

Let's pray that we, our family and friends make the right choice.

Life is short and then you die. Choose Jesus! Choose eternal life.

Amen!

And he did have the choice.

Living in the US, I’m sure he heard of Jesus.

Flunked his correspondence course, Terrorism 101, from Yemen.
Of course, UlSl taxpayers will probably foot the bill for his medical treatment, which proves we aren’t the “Great Satan”....just stupid.

The “international student,” huh? Much can be inferred from that designation and from the name, “Saamar Akhshabi.”

There’s a huge new-ish mosque on 14th Street, just north of where this occurred. Just sayin’.

From his GA Tech profile:

“Before joining Georgia Tech in Fall 2009, I spent four wonderful years at University of Tehran completing my B.Sc. in computer engineering.”

Lovely

On the local news 3rd degree burns over 90% of his body - this translates to a slow death.

How far can it be safely transported?

I would guess quite a way, since I remember in the 50's my father stuffing a rag in the gas tank opening on the car after he lost the gas cap and driving around like that for a couple of weeks.

Why does everyone jump to the most heinous conclusion.

Everyone of college age experiments with alcohol, drug, sex, and Molotov's cocktails.

It is just natural human curiosity and college affords the collegians the time for these discoveries.

Ali found he is not a great one to handle the fire. It is all about control.

Iranian students have been here since at least the mid 1970s. They were at my college and even then made it very clear they were angry and didn’t want to be here. They didn’t speak to Americans and refused to participate in class. Profs were forced to pass them no matter what which did wonders on the bell curve for the rest of us. Follow the money.

Yeah. I’ve seen that. Still it’s a bit different having the rag out where there is plenty of ventilation as opposed to a dozen rag stuffed bottles in the trunk. One could very quickly build up an explosive level of gasoline fumes in an enclosed space.

Also the fuel would doubtless evaporate in a matter of days or weeks depending on temperature.

I conclude he was planning on using them soon and near. I wonder if he’s the only Iranian on US soil making preparations.

YMMV

Electronics seized from Georgia Tech student burned in apartment

ATLANTA —

Channel 2 Action News now knows police confiscated several electronics from the apartment of the Georgia Tech grad student who set himself on fire.

Saamer Akhshabi is at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. Investigators said he suffered third-degree burns on 90 percent of his body.

Early on, Channel 2 learned police found a Molotov cocktail and plastic bottles containing flammable liquids.

Police released the 911 call and a number of new details in an incident report on Thursday.

Channel 2’s Erica Byfield reported when firefighters pulled up to Akhshabi's apartment on 10th Street in Midtown Atlanta, he was still on fire.

The report also reveals investigators also took three laptops, three cellphones, two jump drives and homemade movies from Akhshabi's apartment.

Lastly, the report listed a witness - Byfield found out the witness is also a Tech grad student.

One of Akhshabi's neighbors called 911. The FBI is heading up the investigation.

I was an intern at Cisco, boxborough during summer 2011, working with Dave Oran and the ipvs team on design and evaluation of adaptive bitrate (ABR) systems. Our goal was to build a test bed and a set of tools to study commercial or experimental ABR technologies in the future.
