Hey - if they can expel a kid for eating a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun, they are capable of any kind of idiocy.
Students and parents at a Colorado high school are outraged after administrators turned down their request for a spirit week day honoring America because it might offend non-Americans.
"They said they didn't want to offend anyone from other countries or immigrants," a 16-year-old member of the student council told me. "They just really did not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable."
The student council at Fort Collins High School had proposed having a day to celebrate the United States during next week's Winter Spirit Week. The young people pitched "'Merica Monday" - and invited their classmates to dress in patriotic colors. Their proposal was promptly shot down by administrators.
"They said they didn't want to be exclusive to any other country," a 17-year-old member of the student council told me.
The students and parents who talked to me about this incident have asked to remain anonymous. The parents feared their children might face reprisals from liberal educators.
"It's bizarre and idiotic that we've come to this crossroads in our society that we are having to sacrifice our own culture and belief system," one of the parents told me. "I can't even tell you how it got our blood boiling."
After the administrators rejected the day to celebrate America, the teenagers offered a compromise - "My Country Monday."

EXCERPT:
The irony, said the students, is that they are required to participate in Cinco de Mayo celebrations. One member of the student council pointed out the hypocrisy and noted that students were not being forced to dress in red, white and blue for Merica Day.
from what I understand Cinco de mayo isnt even celebrated in Mexico
how about the students hold a KMA day celebration?
Why do you suppose nobody got offended?
It’s amazing isn’t it in the absolute depths these people will go to NOT insult or offend, Muslims, Mexicans, immigrants of any sorts. But it’s just fine and dandy to insult and offend American citizens on our own soil in our own TAX-PAYER funded school systems.
Yeah, I bet “My Country Monday” will turn out to be any country but the US.
I’m glad some Americans are finally waking up to what massive immigration and multiculturalism are doing to us. But is it too late now?
Educators? Gimme a break. More like union goons... with airs...
And yeah, the parents are right on this one...
To prove their love of the One they worship, they should celebrate Cinco de Quattro. The One is never wrong..
I can’t imagine being so arrogant as to CHOOSE to move to another country and then being “offended” because a school in that country chose to celebrate their own country, and not mine! These are the kinds of selfish, arrogant “immigrants” we’re getting now.
Administrators reverse ban on American celebration at high school
The school said it didn’t approve of the slang name “’Merica”
Neither do I. Here’s the rest of the story...

I’m surprised the country has lasted this long, given the indoctrination forced on kids in the public schools.
RE: Im surprised the country has lasted this long
The Fall of Rome took centuries...
I hope the students all dress in patriotic colors, anyway. Do some spontaneous Pledge of Allegiance gatherings, if they can find any USA flags in the place.
White guilt and hate all in one move.
Most Mexicans don't have a clue as to what Cinco de Mayo is about. I used to ask the Mexican employees that worked for me what Cinco de Mayo was about and they would say " a day to get drunk?".
Bump
I challenge those dipstick administrators to explain what May 5th celebrates. Ask any Mexican, Frenchman, Spaniard, or American and no one will know what it is. It is the Paris Hilton of holidays. A holiday for the sake of having a holiday. And a reason to drink beer and tequila. Those administrators are idiots.
Students should take it on their own to celebrate by wearing patriotic clothing and shoving it right back in the teachers’ arrogant liberal faces.
It’s cool man. Sit down and share a doob...
