Can the heir to America's oldest political dynasty save the GOP?
Its an unseasonably warm midwinter day when a giant blue campaign bus arrives at a downscale strip mall in Pasadena, Texas, announcing the imminent return of a Republican dynasty. George Prescott Bush, the scion of arguably the most successful political family in American history, is launching a statewide bus tour that will introduce him to public prominence as he runs for commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, an important but generally obscure statewide position.
Bush is a lock: He faces no serious challengers, a fact attributable largely to the overwhelming advantages that accompany his name. Come November, the handsome, studious and half-Hispanic 37-year-old George P. will walk into public office, and a choir of observers will begin a round of intense speculation about what his ascension means for his party, his state and his country.

NO - NO - NO...a thousand times, NO!!
I agree with you!
So, it turns out they (Democrats) WERE actually afraid of Christie, so they won’t shut up about the traffic jam until after the GOP Convention. In the meantime, George P. is their John McCain, their Mitt Romney, etc.
However, they’d better be watching their own back door. It seems John Kerry is gonna make another run for it in 2016.
He’s trashing Obama’s Syrian plan (actually a no-plan) and my guess is he’ll have some snarky things to say about Hillary re: Benghazi in the coming months.
In before the Bush bashing.
i would love to see Kerry and Hillary battle it out... can we throw John Edwards in there for good measure??? :)
Geo. P. is an amnesty shill like all the Bushes. David Watts supports Stop the Magnet's positions on immigration:
AGREE - A) Use DPS or Texas State Guard to assist in protecting the border and providing resources to Sheriffs along the border.
AGREE - B) Support state legislative efforts or local ballot initiatives to repeal all sanctuary/safety zones in the State of Texas.
AGREE - C) Companies should be at risk of losing business licenses for failing to properly identify lawful employees using E-Verify or similar resource.
AGREE - D) Need to implement the re-introduction of the teaching of the trades in our public schools.
AGREE - E) Require use of E-Verify or similar resource as a condition for a contract with a state or local governmental entity.
AGREE - F) Use 10th Amendment powers to limit the use of executive orders by the President to fully align with the U.S. Constitution.
George P is the best of the eligible Bushes . That said, NO, NO, NO, NEVER, EVER. No
To quote somebody who used to be important,
STAY OUT da BUSHES!!!!!
All I can say is that if he really is going to run, he’d better vet himself his own plane and flight crew.
Certainly NOBODY Hillary ever used to cart her carcass around.
There’d be too much chance of a Ron Brown flight.
Just say no to the Bushes
I have no idea if George P or Jeb Bush are good wonderful men or not. I only know that we’ve had two Bush presidents and were are now threatened with a second Clinton presidency (and she’s a lot worse than her hubby was)... and we definitely need a MORE SALABLE candidate than anybody named Bush — for 2016, anyway. Right or wrong, anybody named Bush, related or not... will start out at minus 10 or minus 20 points now.
Also, a “moderate” Republican can be a good president in ordinary times. But we are not living in ordinary times, we are living in a very badly screwed-up “Transformed Amerika”.... which desperately needs a constitutionally-qualified, constitutionally-minded, principled person at the helm, at least for a few years, to help reverse and correct some of the damage and to steer the ship of state back from the precipice.
Just my thoughts. Anybody named Bush should wait a few more years before running.
i know this family is unpopular here... and i get it... one of the things about the Bush family that i like is that they actually “do” stuff, work, garner real-life experience before running for office... i saw a short interview at the RNC back in 2004—it was George H. (Poppy) Bush and one of his grandchildren... a cute pudgy boy with reddish hair... the reporter asked the grandson if he might want to run for US President some day, and George H stepped in and said something along the lines of “there’s plenty of time for that, after college, and then getting experience working a while in industry...” i admire that line of thinking...
George P Bush actually seems to be for the most part ok.
I like him.
I like Palin and some others more, but I like him.
(ducks for cover)
George P. Bush seems like a very bright and eloquent guy.
But he is likely even more pro-amnesty than the rest of his family. And frankly, the country has had enough of these endless incestual political dynasties.
Nothing personal against him, but find a line of work other than politics.
He has the credentials of a Kennedy.

seems to have more fire in the belly than his uncle...
Staaaaaay Ouuuuuut. Da Bushessssssssssss!
Is that you Whoopie? You do know that’s who said it first?
