The Red Hot Chili Peppers decided long ago they were never going to mime a live performance. The band made an exception for the NFL, it turns out.
The groups bassist, Flea, said in a letter to fans posted on the groups website Tuesday that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members pretended to play along to a pre-taped track of Give It Away during the Super Bowl halftime show as Anthony Kiedis sang live. The request came from NFL officials who felt it was too difficult to pull off a completely live performance because of potential sound issues.

Looks like a matter of degree, rather than substance. Maybe RHCP should lose one of their minor awards, rather than one of their Grammys.
Singing live at such a large event makes it look like bad lipsinking anyway, as the sound is delayed enough to be offsink from the big screen lips. At least that has been my experience, just watch the refs when they announce a call.
You mean that wasn’t a real prison riot?
Duh.
Dog bites man.

Watched a show on the mob (American cosa Nostra ie Italians). One of the differences between them, Asian gangs, russian mob Ms 13 is these new comers are covered with identifying marks. The mafia frowns on body art.
Don’t know why I brought that up.
I still won the bet the RHCP would go shirtless . . .
Does this make them......... Lukewarm Gerkins?.....
Fleming was a class act though..
This is front page news?
Theybshould have stayed home, that crap was enogh to make anyone puke!
I’m with you on the tattoos. Americans look more and more like third world pagan tribesmen. Cannibals from Papau New Guinea have nothing on some of the young people I see.
GMA is fake, so wouldn’t the “live acts” be fake as well?
I was suspicious even during the 1st Bruno Mars song since the bassist's left hand was not doing anything even remotely close to playing the bass line in the song. It was a pretty sweet gold sparkle Fender Precision bass, though!
Duh .. I could tell that just by watching Flea. Sound was there but his fingers weren’t moving at the same time.
And Bruno Mars’ horn section? There’s no way they could play solid notes while jumping around like that.
“Im with you on the tattoos. Americans look more and more like third world pagan tribesmen.”
I see it as a sign of despair; these young people can’t seriously believe someone will hire them for anything more than a minimum wage job with some of the most visible “art”. They have aimed low...
He was a virtual "Rubber Band Man."
