Agree with you. The NFL blacklisted him because he's Christian. They won't let him play. They almost seem afraid to let him play.
I'm just not really interested in the NFL anymore, because of what they did to Tebow. I had no idea they were so+ against Christianity.
Would love to see him have the chance to play again, but, I guess there's no chance that's going to happen.
The NFL is done.
If they don’t like the extra point the way it is, they should make it a drop kick with the ball snapped from the twenty. It would be a cool, retro sort of thing that demands real skill from the kicker. Getting rid of the PAT otherwise would screw up the statistics forever.
If Tebow had kept winning football games they would care if he was a closet cannibal.
But I think the head injury issue might completely kill youth and college football because of parental concerns and the risk of huge lawsuits.
Once the pipeline of young talent dries up, I don't know how you can staff 32 professional teams for 20 or more games per year.
As to Tebow, I think the guy has enough talent to be an excellent second string QB.
But, three NFL coaching staffs have taken a long look at him, and all of them released him.
Bottom line - the coaches get paid to win, and it's hard to believe they would harm their own careers by succumbing to some kind of alleged religious bias.
Tebow was bringing people back to football, he was huge, and they just flat cut him out, removed him.
Tim Tebow took a loosing team from last place to the AFC Champion ship in less than one year. He was costing the team less than $2 million. Went to the AFC Championship and lost
Payton Manning was given a spring training plus pre-season and a whole year and he too went to the AFC Championship. He cost the team MULTIPLE millions.
Payton went to the super bowl the next year (2014) and lost.
I’m still of the opinion that Denver should have stuck with Tebow, upgraded their defense, and added some receivers (which they did for Manning).
You got it. Or at least that’s what it looks like. Absolutely no way I’d have wanted to make the move Elway did and that decision sure as hell did not look good last night.
Tebow was pretty much one-dimensional as a QB. In a pass first league, which is what the NFL is, Tebow was a runner. His passing game was just not NFL caliber. I wanted him to make it in New England, but he was just terrible in the pre-season. Belichek gave him an opportunity to be Brady’s back-up, but Tebow did not perform....
He was too Big for the govt. He’s christian and white that is why they got rid of him. He was too popular. He doesnt fit the nwo mixed race ect that they are promoting. Im convinced the SB was fixed and has been a long time. How does the stadium get filled with fans for one team ? This goes higher than the NFL.
The way Tebow was treated by Denver is the reason I cheered everytime the Broncos looked like fools. I wish the scored would have been 100 to 0 and Elway would be thrown out of the city in shame.
Good article...
Denver Broncos paid 40-50 million dollars the past two seasons for a QB who won 1 more playoff game than Tebow. And judging the way Peyton Manning played last nite...Tebow would have fared better than Manning
In fact, the winning QB, Russell Wilson, plays just like Tebow...
Author makes good points
At least Liberals over at ESPN realize Tebow is an asset...Tebow will be working the new SEC Network this fall
>>Roger Goodell is certainly the worst commissioner the NFL has had in my lifetime. He might be the worst commissioner in all ofsports in my lifetime.<<
Sorry, but that dishonor goes to the only commissioner ever to have the league stop playing - THREE times, including once for a whole season. I refer, of course to Gary Bettman.
bfl
I agree with everyone’s comments. What has been done to Tebow is infuriating.
Now I wonder how they are going to treat Russell Wilson. He praised God numerous times in all the post game press. Actually sounded alot like Tebow to me!
Well — John Elway is certainly licking his wounds after last night.
That was a major thrashing —
That Scientology ad mocked Christianity.
Go Tebow!
And that stink bomb of a Super Bowl game last night didn’t help prolong the life of the NFL either. The outrageous over-hyping of these games leads to disappointment nine out of ten years for real fans of football as it once was played.
I did not watch the super bowl... I will never watch the nfl again. They destroyed baseball... football... basketball and NASCAR. Now the nfl.
Tebow wasn't on an NFL roster last season because he's not an NFL quarterback. It's really that simple. Many of us have said this for years.
He certainly isn't the first guy to win a Heisman Trophy as a running quarterback in a fast-paced offense that is well suited to the college game, only to turn into a bust in the NFL.
He's actually a tremendous athlete and would probably be an All-Pro candidate for much of his career if he had played a different position.
Time Warner Cable went down across a better part of the country for most of the second half. Had it been college football or baseball I would have freaked. But as it was the NFL, the Mrs and I just blew it off and turned to the Joseph story on the Military Channel.
