(Reuters) - Food transportation companies will be required to adhere to certain sanitation standards to prevent food from becoming contaminated during transit under a new rule proposed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Nanny State PING!

The fda is a bunch of assholes that do nothing but ruin commerce in America.
That’s what we’ve been missing — more rules!
Not that we need any more rules, but this type of rule is actually precisely the sort of thing the Feds are empowered to do under the Constitution. It’s the first legitimate exercise of the Interstate Commerce clause I’ve seen in a long, long time.
There are already such - why not just enforce the ones in place..........sheesh these people drive me insane.
paraphrasing Tolkien:
one rule to fit them all. one rule to bind them.
Between States.
It's not a good law if they want to apply it to intrastate commerce.
It's not needed.
It's not for food safety. And if it's applied to intrastate commerce, it's not something the Fed is empowered to do.
I, for one, will ignore it.

I'm honing that to a fine art.

Is this the same FDA that wants to allow the import Chinese chicken, raised in unspeakably filthy Chinese farms on contaminated and adulterated chicken feed, and processed in Chinese plants that forbid access to American inspectors and allow them to label it as MADE IN USA?
That FDA?
I can no longer take any of these Federal Agencies seriously. They are all puppets in BO’s hands to promote a twisted, alien political agenda.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where Obama lies.
Busy work...
Shuffling the chairs...
Meaningless...
as if food costs weren’t already going up significantly.
more gubmint jobs. you ought to thank us for making you do all this extra crap.
do you rally believe they are doing this to make our lives better? really? really?....?
don’t even start on imported seafood raised in the most contaminated little cesspools in india or china. and fed horrid crap.
I suppose it could facilitate interstate commerce by enabling customers to more easily trust their suppliers.
What? you don't trust them? Give 'em just one more chance. They'll put a few more thousand pages of regulation out there and do some selective enforcement.
Are we done yet with the central government experiment yet?

I always get negative replies to this but,
ABOLISH THE FDA!
