India is the world's largest democracy, and has a population of 1.2 billion. America is the world's oldest democracy.
Indian-born Dinesh D'Souza immigrated to America in 1978, and he has written several books saying that America has more freedom than any other country in the world. D'Souza many be right in saying that the America which he found in 1978 was the world's most free nation. But the America that Dinesh found in 1978 no longer exists, except in the history books.
The problem that America faces is much bigger than the policies of the Obama administration. Conservatives betrayed America when they permitted the federal government to grab unlimited power, in the so-called Patriot Act. The federal government was permitted to do anything under the sun, so long as they used the excuse of fighting terrorism.
Today, America has less freedom than India. India has independent courts, and a parliament that is very aggressive in challenging government abuse of power. India has suffered more terrorism incidents than America. But the people of India value freedom more than safety, and will never permit their government to use any excuse to limit their freedoms. They are what Americans used to be.
The only domestic security measure that conservatives should have supported after 9-11, is airliner cockpit doors made of steel. Americans have become like Esau in the Bible. Esau traded his birth right as first-born son, in exchange for a bowl of beans.
If India will be the next America, America will be the next Cuba.
George Zimmerman might want to do the same thing in his mother’s homeland, Peru.
When you trade freedom for security you end up with neither.
Isn't that a little over-the-top?
“America”? Do you mean the USA? The USA is a republic . . . or former republic, if it cannot be restored.
India is heading towards Maoism.
Sure about that?
Sure about what? I said a number of things.
>>>Isn’t that a little over-the-top?
D’souza has written more books proclaiming America’s greatness and goodness, than any other writer alive. Perhaps I should have used the description, “America’s greatest living patriotic author”.
“India is heading towards Maoism.”
That is a new one.
I think I’ll take George Washington as Greatest Patriot.
See my post No.8
Why women join Indias Maoist groups BBC NewsThe Maoists succeeded in taking over Nepal in 2006with the help of the UN, of course.
Maoist insurgency spreads to 40 percent of India

Maybe Laz, Dinesh and I can get together in Mass and get married to one-another so Dinesh can stay in the US...
Caveat... given the homo-nazi agenda that “it’s not about sex”, no one has to hit anyone to get things “copacetic” (IYKWIM). Laz, I nominate you to contact Dinesh...
Cue Ricky B. Sharp: hehhhhh, heh, hah.
The Maoist bogeyman has been warned about for at least three decades now.
The truth is most are mere bandit tribals in thick subtropical jungles. They can’t operate beyond those regions.
Okay, I’ll buy that.
Plenty of mainstream communist parties in India to soften the blow for making Maoism mainstream if they feel like it. Incumbent government is also left wing.
Most of Indian (and south asian) masses belong to lower castes whose leaders are like black “reverends” — redistribution, class envy, and race war are modus operandi.
For millenia and centuries, they were too destitute and oppressed. But now they have becomed aware enough to be a force of hundreds of millions. A great Maoist threat is brewing in South Asia. The East Asian commies are pseudo-capitalists anyway.
