Tuesday night live on C-SPAN, President Obama outlines his agenda for the coming year when he delivers his fifth State of the Union Address before a Joint Session of Congress.
Leading up to the President's speech, C-SPAN sets the scene from the White House and Capitol Hill with perspectives from Former Speechwriter to President Obama Jon Lovett, Senate Historian Don Ritchie, and Gallup Editor in Chief Frank Newport.
Following the State of the Union, House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) delivers the Republican response. McMorris Rodgers is in her fifth term representing Washingtons Fifth District.
C-SPAN's live coverage concludes with viewer calls as well as reaction from social media. Share your thoughts via phone, Facebook and Twitter using #cspanchat.
I’ll bet my last dollar that are vids up about “the One” that are longer than an hour.
I watched Sen. Mike Lee here:

Why is Meatloaf being asked his opinion on Fox?
This country is stuck on stupid.
What a failure obummer is!
Their behavior on chat boards is exactly how the enemy of mens souls operates to silence the truth.
Fact checker is already on Obamas speech...numbers on medicade etc. signing up for Obamacare.
“I feel EMPTY regarding the pResidents speech and the responses from Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers...”
I can’t respond to all who didn’t like Rodgers speech but I heard on Fox a few minutes ago that the speech was written by someone else as long as two weeks ago, and all she could do was read it. If I had been her, I would not have done that. Anyway, it was not her fault the speech was a meek piece of nothing, it was prewritten.
They should stop this method and appoint who they are going to use and let that person write their own material - every time the response speech is a bust and I have noticed that every single time no matter who “reads” it.
Have you seen this:
Ooof. You got me there, direct hit. :)
Of course her personal story was her own but the response to the speech was the canned part.
You are correct. When I was paying attention, Barry said that MyRA would be a bond program. If current retirement plans are transferred to MyRA, the feds will control your funds.
The gun stuff and he mentioned his executive authority in that regard. What’s he gonna do? Massage the second amendment?
On Health Care, Specifically staying on parents plan until you are 26
I may be wrong, but I heard a long time ago, that in order to be on your parents health care plan until you are 26, you have to either be in school or unemployed.
If you are 25 and employed, you would not qualify for parents plan.
To be eligible to be on parents plan until you are 26, you must not be employed.
Perhaps the person that said it, had the info wrong, have not heard it said again
A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, What are all those clocks? St. Peter answered, Those are Lie-clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move. Oh, said the man, whose clock is that? Thats Mother Teresas. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie. Incredible, said the man. Thats Abraham Lincolns clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lines in his enitre life. Wheres Obamas clock? His clock is in Jesus office. Hes using it as a ceiling fan.
Did ANYONE give a rebuttal that was spontaneous?!
I remember being on the “forensics team” in high school... We were given a topic, resources, limited time and delivered “on-the-spot.”
Jeesh. What a freakin’ waste...
My forefathers shed their blood/died for our Constitutional Republic, and I do not know what to do to preserve our freedom for our posterity...
Yes, very positive.
>> 1773 to 1789 was a long road. We are at 1773.
I think it will be a long journey today as well, but one without blood.
Lee’s reform message may not go unopposed on the Right. Believing he’s serious about the details, he communicated ideas critical of canonical “conservative” law — the decree that no corporation can do any wrong, the rule that every offender deserves incarceration, the proclamation that the previous health system was perfectly sufficient.
Dare I say it, but it seemed like a conservative-libertarian message, or a constitutional one if that’s more palatable. I believe the false comfort provided by statism will be this reform agenda’s greatest obstacle. On the other hand, if we were united in the bare-naked constitutional sense, we’d steamroll the adversary today.
I just read that and Rodgers was giving the “official” party canned response the eRepublicans wanted out there, but they couldn’t stop the renegades (that would be Tea Party types) giving their responses on the internet some where.
I absolutely would not do that canned response. It makes the reader of it look like a wuss and harms the career of the person just as people have come down on her on this thread. Now I know why they are always terrible to see/hear.
