Officials said President Barack Obama will visit a western Pennsylvania steel plant after delivering this week's State of the Union address.
A White House spokesman said Sunday that the president will travel to U.S. Steel's Irvin plant in West Mifflin on Wednesday to deliver remarks on the economy.
The company said the Irvin plant produces sheet metal products from the steel slabs produced at the Edgar Thomson plant in Braddock.
Obama will also be visiting the Washington suburbs of Prince George's County, Md. on Wednesday and will go to Milwaukee and Nashville on Thursday.

It’ll be dead within the year
There goes the neighborhood.
PA Route 51. Lebanon Church Road. It will be an absolute traffic nightmare.
Thanks, Obama.
Yep. I’ve had to drive that route on business before. It is bad enough on a normal day. Throw in BO’s visit and the polar inversion and I’m guessing a lot of people will take the option to just stay home if they have it.
Come on. He’s got to get his message out. The Republicans are keeping him from doing so. /sarcasm.
Am I mistaken, or does the Irvin Plant run on COAL?
Now that'd be thick irony. Of course, you won't here the media trumpet that.
What “remarks” can he make about the economy? “Yep, I’ve been busy the last 5 years golfing, setting up Michelle’s 50th birthday party and creating the Obamacare fiasco, but now I can finally focus on the economy.”
So, he visits one of the last steel plants in this country, and then goes to Prince George's County....well...
What is he gonna do? Visit the next class of matriculating convicts there?
Well there goes two more neighborhoods down the sewer.
“Officials said President Barack Obama will visit a western Pennsylvania steel plant after delivering this week’s State of the Union address. “
Well... it would be one of the ‘warmest’ places to go. Even with below zero temperatures outside, a STEEL PLANT is usually pretty dang warm.
Maryland, Milwaukee, and Nashville. You are in our prayers. The Dark Clouds will eventually roll on by.
It’s really inconsiderate of Obama. A large portion of the US is in a for-real weather crisis. To take effort away from public services so the president can visit is beyond insane.
I think that word is illegal. Executive order and all. You must use the word 'community' in it's place. : )
Pretty sure it runs on coal gasses captured at it's Clariton Coke Works and piped to the Irvin Plant.
Not sure about the reception he'll get there. I know the county commies will be out in force but many in the workforce live outside Allegheny county and none of the surrounding counties voted Dem in the last election (Pres).
Here? (it's the small things that we miss).
Yes-he is due here in Nashville on Thursday-to speak at a high school. I am trying to find out what time-AlGore used to always come during rush hour to visit. Would land at the airport and then be driven to Carthage to visit his family/home (one of the many homes he has). It used to utterly bring traffic to a standstill-usually always in 5 o’clock traffic. Many curses.
When GW became prez, someone must have put a bug in his ear. Every time he visited he was very discreet, travelled during quiet traffic times. We always appreciated that.
Technically, I don’t know if irony is the correct word.
Contradiction or Hypocracy, maybe.
Regardless to the terminology, also remember that steel is made from burning IRON and CARBON.
He hates steel and coal.
