The government shoulf give away goods and services for free as long as somebody thinks it’s a good idea. Have no idae what “conservative’ means these days.
To: SMGFan
Schmucky Schumer should be required to wear a polygraph so that all of us in the chattering class can call him out for what he is.

Some politicians do things like this under the guise of doing something good. And I know many politicians have no idea what they’re actually doing. Apparently Chuckie either hasn’t seen HUNGER GAMES or didn’t get it.

You will never get me to believe that this has anything to do with the safety of autistic children.
I would bet my left tit that this has everything to do with the maker of these tracking devices being a donor to Upchuck Schumer, and this is now payback time.

I guess tattooing numbers on their wrists is so 20th century.

Why can't the families who want to track their kids or elderly just buy their own? Tracking devices aren't particularly expensive now. $149 and $30 per month is all a high end tracking device costs.
AT&T offers one, as do a number of other vendors. Their tracking service which uses the kids phone - less secure than something attached to clothing, but good enough for most kids, is something like $9.95 per month.

Better to put tracking devices on all politicians.
Do you know where your senator is?

Likely a freebie...I have no problem with it. After all, what is the feral government for if not to provide boondoggles for campaign contributors?

I have an autistic kid and "elopement" is a problem with some of these kids. One of the other guys in my agency had to jump from a helicopter into a swamp to get to a wandering autistic Girl Scout.
Between autism and Alzheimer's, tracking modules would really help local authorities. I'm sure if the government is involved it will cost a lot more. Garmin makes a really nice device for dogs. If you get the government involved it will only cost 5 times as much. Two words for you Obama Phone.

I am all in favor of someone with a video camera following this subhuman around 24/7.
It’s for the children, of course.

I agree. I think that family members should have immediate access and control, so that they can themselves know where their family member is. Even kids without challenges can end up where they shouldn't be and having phone location ability is very handy for monitoring older teenagers.
In most cases the family could share the location data with any agencies helping out. In the event of a serious problem law enforcement organizations have direct access to phone location data, as they would to the GPS tracking devices.
