One black-and white photo shows Heinrich Himmler on an idyllic family outing, holding his wife's hand while his blond, pigtailed daughter is picking flowers. Others show the SS Nazi leader feeding a little fawn or taking a bath at Lake Tegernsee near his home in Bavaria.
The family-friendly, intimate scenes are part of a previously unseen collection of photos, recipe books and about 700 letters and notes believed to be written by Himmler, one of the Nazis most responsible for the Holocaust.
Excerpts from the collection appeared in seven full pages of the German paper Welt am Sonntag on Sunday. They contain large-sized images of Himmler surrounded by his family and excerpts from his love letters to wife Marga, calling her "my sweet, beloved little woman."

It was more economical in the long term.
I think you misunderstand. It was not me who is in denial. It is many, still living, Hitler admirers, like my aunt.(She’s a Democrat, too.)
My mother would not join the Party but survived the Nazi regime with no ‘papers’. She wasn’t in any Jewish camp but was sent to a work farm from which she escaped (low security) as soon as the potato plants were large enough for cover. She is terrified at what is going on today.
I grew up confused as to how good people still followed such evil. And I share my mother’s fear for this country. I think Conservatives could easily become the new undesirables.

I have a HUGE problem with Germany having any voice in these activities; it’s the height of hypocrisy.
If any of my fellow Jews are still living there (why would they?): GET OUT!!!
Well in Germany, it’s not the ethnic Germans that are the problem, unless you include the typical soccer hooligan nutcases you find in every European country, but from the Muzzies there.
They ALL belong in ovens.
I will never forget or forgive.
His name was Mueller and I believe he was instrumental in setting up part of the Gestapo. From what I remember reading, he absolutely adored Stalin’s NKVD and modeled his organization after that.
He actually disappeared into the Soviet Union... and not as a POW.
Read Edward Crankshaw’s 1956 book “Gestapo: Instrument of Tyranny” for a good write-up on the guy.
It wasn’t Canaris.
He was the head of the Abwehr, German Military Intelligence. Yes, he was anti-Nazi, but he was not a communist.
The man in question’s name was Heinrich Mueller.
“...ALL...”
Way I see it, they had THEIR liberal psychopaths in that society, same as us. And they got hold of the levers of power, same as they are trying to do here.
They made damn sure they disarmed the general populace first, before they made any moves. That actually happened back under the Kaiser during WWI, where an official decree was put out for scoped rifles (for the Scharfschutzen (sniper)) school that the Army was building; they asked people to lend them rifles “for the War Emergency” and write down any other firearms they had “in case they’re needed”.
All of those neat, nice, concisely-typed, Teutonically efficient files rested peacefully in file cabinets for twenty years in local police stations, and then the National Socialists came along.
And they nationalized and militarized the local police forces too, under the Kripo (Kriminal Polizei) arm of the Gestapo.
Gestapo, for anyone not knowing it, means “Geheime Staats Polizei” - Secret State Police. Goering originally set it up using the Prussian Political Police as the model, then Himmler took over as overall Reichsfuhrer with Mueller and Reinhardt Heydrich running most of the various sub-organizations.
Reinhardt Heydrich was another psychopath, but Czech Patriots blew his ass away in 1942 and cut his career short.
That’s right from JPFO, Aaron Zellman and Crankshaw’s book as well.
Then you got Lidice.
A lot of people don’t realize that Heydrich and his successor Kaltenbrunnen also headed INTERPOL.
Yeah... and Ouradour-sur-Glane in France, too. That’s how the SS dealt with partisans.
And Stavelot, Trois Ponts, Werboment, Lignueville - and Malmedy in Belgium.
My old man crossed the ocean, and parachuted into Germany to kill the bastards. I have no love for the ideology. He didn’t either; his only comment to me about the war, when I was a young teen, was that his guys never took SS prisoner, unless they were specifically ordered to. He hated them.
By the way... the SS was Hitler’s “National Security Force, just as well-funded and equipped as the military”... Wow... where did we hear that before, I wonder...
This book is well-worth the price and the time to read:

Crankshaw wrote it in 1956; he was British Intelligence, and he’d been around some of the major players. I’d trust HIS views on them anyday of the week.
"The day the soldiers came...." (I can still hear Laurence Olivier)
Yeah, Ernst Kaltenbrunner was a pr*ck too.
I’d like to see the world devote the same effort they put into going after the Nationals Socialists into going after the INTERNATIONAL Socialist mass murderers - Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao, Che, and all the other psychotic bastards of the 20th century.
Too bad the people there weren’t able to say “hello” to them from the rooftops with 7.92 Mausers and shoot the m*therfer’s dead.
I mean, if you’re going to die, at least make it painfully expensive for the thugs... like Solzhenitsyn said.
Kill them all.
The doctors name was Bloch. I remember that from reading John Toland’s masterful two volume bio of Hitler
