Democrats have given up arguing that Wendy Davis is being honest about her history and are now simply demanding we all accept her narrative and her lies simultaneously. In a column suggesting Davis is being "swift-boated" for fabricating parts of her biography, Margaret Carlson in the Chicago Tribune implores readers to be generous with Davis's biography.

I have a copy of Carlson’s bio stating she was a stripper in Tijuana. Now that has to be a lie. No one would EVER pay to see this moron!

What liberals continually forget was that the Swift-Boaters were telling the truth. Perhaps for some. But I suspect that most knew he was lying once the evidence was there. Their bitch about "Swift Boating" was that the lies were being so forcefully exposed.
Remember, with the left, the guilt is not in the doing, it is in the getting caught.

"Get a detail wrong about whether you divorced at 21 or at 19," she complains, "and woe unto you." A detail?? WTF? She doesn't know how old she was when she got divorced? If she got that wrong because of a faulty memory, then she's too damn stupid to hold office. Can't have it both ways, Margaret.

In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to. ― Theodore Dalrymple

Margaret Carlson is still alive? She looked like near-death 30 years ago on McLaughlin or whatever show it was she appeared on regularly.
She was definitely a Lucy-type, who saw herself as THE smartest person in a room full of dummies who could never, ever be right about anything.

Margaret Carlson - surprised she hasnt joined the Obama administration. They must not want her.
She was already in the Carter Administration, though it's hard to figure out in what capacity (her bio's quite fuzzy).
She's in her sixties now (though that's also a guess). She has a cushy berth writing stuff like this and probably doesn't need the headaches.
Jay Carney, a younger guy, needed to get his card punched with a White House job. He's not competent or trustworthy, but we'll be hearing about him for a very long time because of the White House connection.

No, probably not, but it might be an inadvertent one. A few more articles like this one could result in “swift boated” being understood, accurately, as “outed for blatant lying to advance one’s political career.”
