Lacy T. accused the Raiders in a lawsuit Wednesday of failing to pay the Raiderettes minimum wages for the work they do, both on the sidelines and in the community for charity. The team also sticks them with travel costs and levies "fines" that eat into their meager salary, she said.
She filed her lawsuit in Alameda County Superior Court as a proposed class action on behalf of 40 current Raiderettes and other members of the squad over the past four years. And she said she hopes other NFL cheerleaders will join the fray.

Yet they went through all kinds of competition to get the job.
Dumbasses.
It is a complete shame they are forced into taking these jobs...oh, wait. Never mind.
A rich guy was supposed to notice her and marry her by now.
That's the way it always works in the music videos...so the Raiders must be ripping her off. :)
Most of these individuals consider this a stepping stone into some other job or personal relationship. Basically they are interns.
I think they have a point. Everyone else is getting rich, might as well let the cheerleaders have some money too. If the owners want to say the cheerleader don’t matter, then maybe they should limit the job to one year up front. That way more cheerleaders can get exposure and they won’t be making a career of it.
A few years ago a teacher tried to tell me that there was no reason a good teacher shouldn’t make as much as a pro baseball player.
I told her that it was pretty unlikely but if she really wanted to get paid what she was worth she should teach in a private school or contract as a tutor to the rich and famous. Then I really yanked her chain by suggesting that maybe there was a reason she stayed in a public school.

if she can attract hundreds of thousands of people into a park for 4 hours at $50 a head week after week then sure, why not pay her the same as a pro ball player!
I suspect there is a union organizer somewhere in the background.

So I'm thinking if you don't like the terms - leave! Hey, it is not like this is a long-term career option anyway. Every single one of them knows some season, maybe next season, they'll fail to make the cut. Nor is there much room for advancement, NFL cheerleader is probably about the pinnacle of cheerleading.
When the situation is that cut and dried and understood by all parties going into an employment arrangement I fail to see how the employee has a legal leg to stand on regarding salary.
Substitute "politician" for cheerleader and "term" for year and you've really got something there!
The NFL is owned and run by democrat appeasers. Of course they are going to treat women like cheap throw away sex objects.
Just how much should we pay someone who teaches 2+2 = 5?
While true, it is irrelevant.
There is a law stipulating a minimum wage. The law was broken by the employer
You think I'm gonna do charity for free??
2+2 does = 5 for large values of 2
