Charles Krauthammer predicted Wednesday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that "all hell's going to break loose" if the administration can't fix the problems with the Healthcare.gov website by mid-March.
"Right now the insurers are guessing at the subsidy, so all of this is on the honor system and it can be wildly off," Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor said. "If they undershoot, the insurers are going to go bust. If they overshoot, the government is going to be stuck with a huge bill."

Have you seen post 50 on this thread? Does this match with what you know about the OSHIT bill?
On a good day, FR can rally itself to beat the band, and pump up so much patriotic cheer, it makes your heart sing. There’s power in consciously adopting a victor’s mindset. When a group of people do it simultaneously, there’s a sort of spirit interchange that occurs, which acts as an intensifying multiplier. The haka war dance of the Maoris is an example that effect. A large crowd reciting the Pledge of Allegiance can do the same thing.
I guess the point I’m making, is that we conservatives don’t spend enough time tapping into our fighting spirit. Instead, we allow weak minded, frightened people to set the tone for the group, and the demoralization goes viral. I’ve watched that contagion happening here for years.
Many people don’t seem to realize that, if you think you’re beaten, you most certainly are. On the other hand, just knotting your brow and saying, “Hell No!”, has incredible power — especially when a group of determined people are doing it together.
Alrighty. Rant off - two cents in.
[...” All except those Tea Party types, swallowed hook, line and sinker my promises that they could
(1) keep their existing health plans,
(2) keep their own doctors that they like,
(3) keep their 25-year-olds on the family health plan,
(4) never be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition,
(5) sign up instantly on my tech-savvy government Web site,
(6) buy insurance only after becoming seriously ill.”
(7) save $2,500 in annual premiums in the bargain....
(8) All without any new taxes.”]
Democrats are fools and liars and thieves who hate every one who knows they are fools.
I wouldn’t believe post 50 at this point - I would have to read it for myself because people are not careful to read each word in a law and they will make conclusions that aren’t right. Don’t care if its a judge or someone else making those conclusions. I have taught people, including lawyers, how to read laws so they don’t misinterpret.
I do know for sure that the hospital now has two ways to admit you. They check either “Inpatient” or “Under Observation”. Make sure they check “Inpatient” because Medicare will not pay for “Under Observation”. I saw an actual case of this on Fox, I think it was, where a woman broke her leg and was in the hospital and then she also had rehab while still in the hospital. The hospital had put down “Under Observation” for her case and Medicare wouldn’t pay and she owes over $25,000. They left their house to live with family so they could save money for her to have more rehab.
I also know doctors are to offer end of life counseling. The person who wrote this article says a patient will be “required” to attend. I don’t believe that. I’m sure the “Living Will” will be explained to patients. A “Living Will” is a death will, telling the hospital not to give them life saving procedures - just let them die. I ran into that with my husband. I had a “Medical Power of Attorney” which meant I was the only one besides my husband who could make a medical decision for him. I had him in five different hospitals and each one asked me if he had a “Living Will” and I told them that is a death will and here is my medical power of attorney - I had a number of copies made of that power of attorney and passed them out like candy to shut down their power to kill my husband. That piece of paper stopped them right in their tracks - they couldn’t do jack unless I approved it.
If you have a medical power of attorney and go to one of these end of life meetings the doctor has, just hand him/her a copy of the medical power of attorney, and they are stopped right there and you can walk out.
I was amused every time when I handed a hospital person that paper because the reaction from them was like the paper was a religious cross and they reacted like the devil would when faced by a cross. Keep the power so if you are too sick to make medical decisions for yourself, your spouse has that power and the hospital doesn’t.
You can find a medical power of attorney form on the net, print it, fill it out, both you and spouse sign it in the presence of a Notary Public and it’s done. That is what I did for both of us.
Please don’t make the joke that you don’t trust your spouse to make those decisions. You shouldn’t be married to that person if that statement is true. This is a serious business and jokes don’t apply.
Spouses should have a Medical Power of Attorney for both spouses so you are in control of what hospitals can do.
THIS is what Nancy didn’t want us to read...
“all hell’s going to break loose”
Which is exactly what the Marxist intended.
QUOTE OF THE DAY!!
Yes!
Agree but just how is this beast going to be stopped when there is nobody powerful enough or willing to do so? The people certainly aren’t as we’ve seen already. Nor Congress.
In order for what you say to happen there has to be a willingness to do more than grumble and complain about it. I don’t see that happening or evidence that it will...if you know something then please give me reason to think this even can be stopped.....how?
BFLR
Very interesting Marcella. I’m in process of making some will changes and how to go about this with Obamacare regulations etc. on end life matters.
I’m not married but my son’s wife is an ER nurse who well understands medical terms to explain to my son....so I would give my son “Medical Power of Attorney” Rather than a “Living will”...if I understand you correctly?
Before I answer that, just let me say this.
Sometimes the demoralizing echo chamber of doom and gloom in here becomes so overwhelming, that I have to take a break and hang out for a while at places where real Americans are expressing themselves with no back off, and no reservations.
There are lots of such places. They're virtually everywhere on the net where conservatives and patriots hang their hats. Let me tell you something.....Americans are pissed. I mean angry enough to pop a blood vessel. Mad enough to knock someone out with just the glare in their eyes. So full of fury, they're practically daring Big Brother to 'bring it'.
Everywhere it seems, but here.
You should try hanging out at some of those places some time. It's very refreshing, and helps to restore your faith in your fellow Americans.
To answer your question, I'd say the will to fight back is on full display as I've never seen it. Just not here, although there are a lot of stalwart patriots and fighters amongst us.
There's just something about the group morale here that seems to be damaged or broken. I don't think the mood here is at all indicative of the general mood of the country. Matter of fact, I know it's not, but you have to step outside FR to see it.
and who would be that “single payer”?
a government that is $17 Trillion in debt?
stop the “single payer” mantra.
It is unrealistic to expect the govt is going to take over the entire healthcare system and nationalize it, prmise ot pay everyone healthcare bills, and make doctors and healthcare workers into (involuntary) federal employees. Not without massive coercion against individual liberty to decide where when and how hard to work
MEDICARE and MEDICAID are “single payers” and look how well that is expected to work in the next 2 years as the obamaconomy sinks beneath the waves
“...so I would give my son Medical Power of Attorney Rather than a Living will...if I understand you correctly?”
Absolutely. A living will tells the hospital to not resuscitate you, let you die. The hospital owns you if you sign that document. A Medical Power of Attorney gives your son total control to follow YOUR wishes instead of the hospital’s. If you are too sick to make decisions, the hospital MUST consult your son before they do anything.
Make several copies of the medical power of attorney once it is made (keep the original, don’t give it away) because numerous doctors are usually on a case, and your son may need to give those doctors a copy as doctors are used to a Living Will but not used to medical power of attorney. They know what it is, but they need to know your son has one as you may go through numerous doctors on a serious case.
If you have family members trying to butt in, wanting to make decisions for you, they are also shut down if your son has a medical power of attorney. My husband had a son who is an alcoholic, and he tried that and I told him I had medical power of attorney and he wanted a copy. Fine, gave him one, and he was shut down.
Good for you to consider what will happen to you if you get seriously ill.
Thank you for taking time to confirm this. Am very glad, and much appreciate, you shared this information for I had no idea about “Medical Power of Attorney” only a ‘Living Will’, and even that I wasn’t comfortable with. There is certainly a difference!
I have two sons but I know the other son would not do well handling medical determinations....nor would he want to. So appointing his brother is something he’d have no problem with.
When whoever made up “Living Will” they gave it that same to sound “good”. That was a travesty to do that since it is turning your body over to the hospital when you can’t make a decision. If they gave it the proper name, it would be “Death Will” and people would read it to find out what will happen to them. I mean every single time, when I was asked if he had a “Living Will”, I said to that person, “That is Death Will and I have a Medical Power of Attorney.” Their attitude changed immediately because they knew I was knowledgeable about “Death Wills”.
