Top television and radio host Glenn Beck said in an interview with Megyn Kelly on Fox News that he regrets some of his time at the cable network, when he hosted his own show, and admitted that he ratcheted rhetoric that helped drive a political wedge in America.

"I remember [my time on Fox] as an awful lot of fun and that I made an awful lot of mistakes," Mr. Beck said on Fox News on Tuesday night. "I think I played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart."

He also said if he could hit the rewind button, that he'd focus more on uniting, not dividing.

"I wish I could go back and be more uniting in my language," he said, Politico reported. "I didn't realize how really fragile the people were...

Mr. Beck's show ran on Fox News between 2009 and 2011...

This is him realizing his stardom has peaked and is fading.

Try the dictionary. If I felt strongly that he did drink, I could be a lot more explicit than that. “Supposedly” as I’m using it, means that I have no idea whether it’s true or not.

Nah, Alex doesn’t have my number. He did but I changed it. He was calling me constantly.

Beck always struck me as a strange, not altogether “there” type of person. His particular brand of politics seemed like an eclectic and not entirely rational blend that didn’t quite touch on some of the fundamentals of conservatism.

A creature neither fish nor fowl, as it were - not quite libertarian and not quite conservative, not quite fully faithful and not quite fully secular, straddling a weird philosophical no-man’s land between the various camps that make up conservative thinking.

I assumed Beck was simply a slightly misguided modern American trying to navigate out of the intellectual, moral, and philosophical morass that permeates modern discourse. I just assumed he was a not quite philosophic person that straddled his own personal line between neoconservative, classical liberal, constitutional conservative, and traditionalist lines while cherry-picking whatever elements seemed either interesting, emotionally appealing or career-enhancing at the time without worrying much about making rational sense of the contradictions in his world views. Different strokes and all that.

After his irrational flip-flopping I’ve got to say he strikes me as a needy, slightly unhinged loon looking for some kind brand to buy into that promises him emotional fulfillment.

Exactly. He did what he was suppose to do, and very well. Sometime, it’s just best not to say anything, and keep your mouth shut.

I agree with you. Glenn Beck is emotional by nature, and sometimes speaks when he should not. Whatever your doubts at times, Glenn, stay the course and do what you do best...you educate us and compel us to do our own research for the truth. This is Glenn’s style, but substance over style is what is most important, and I stand by Glenn.

PLEEZE Glen, stop already with wasting our time with your “Moron Trivia” show on Fridays. What a waste of time better spent on other things.

No. I do not give my money to them.

Then where did you get the audio/video of his statements? Did you get the audio/video of his monologue on his show, that I saw? What were your sources for your blogpost, if you don't mind me asking?

That is a complete whitewash.

How is it a whitewash? I saw the original video, and I am of the understanding you did not. What are your your sources, again?

A) Standing with GLAAD, a cultural terrorist organization, is bad enough. This is a CPUSA front group.

I am telling you, (since I SUBSCRIBE TO THE BLAZE, AND YOU DO NOT--Again, what are your sources, then, for your blog post) that his 'defense' of GLADD is his way of telling his audience that in Russia, it has come to the point where an entertainer there feels safe enough to call for the death (by burning them alive) of homosexuals. And there is no official condemnation of this by the government, like there would be here, if said. And when you say Glenn is supporting communists, remember the source of all of this is Russia/USSR after all... If you are OK with this actor's statement, because it is a group you don't like, you are making a mistake. That is his point.

B) Russian actor, and why did he bother bringing something up that nobody had even heard about just to push GLAAD’s victimhood agenda?

That nobody? (forgive the caps, but...) THAT NOBODY IS THE WHOLE POINT OF GLENN SAYING THAT HE WILL "STAND WITH" GLADD OVER HIS "BURN GAYS ALIVE" STATEMENT. If the "nobody" never would have opened his mouth, Glenn would have talked about something else entirely! Where else is there evidence of Glenn "standing with" GLADD?

C) He tied it all in to Russia’s new laws, even recently with his critique of Putin’s interview. He then decried the ‘anti-gay’ crowd, CUOMO’S LANGUAGE.

Remember, I saw the video. I am not sure what you are saying here, but if I am correct, you are telling me that if Glenn "decrying" the "anti-gay crowd" is using Cuomo's Language? I am losing you--I don't remember him saying that if you do not support GLADD, "There is no place for you in New York. Or America for that matter. (that is ACTUAL cuomo language.) Unless you think that there IS a place in Russia, and in America, for groups of any kind to be put into ovens. Alive.

“Funny how those Mormons roll. They must have a different version of the bible or something.”

They don’t “do” the Bible in a big way. Their beliefs are more strongly based on extra-biblical tenets and writings. (That’s what makes LDS a cult.)

Glen Beck.

As you were.

Captain; may I remind you that not only did Beck make a mountain out of a molehill with that russian TV actor, and supported GLAAD while doing so, he also dissed and smirked at Duck Dynasty and Phil Robertson's comments against homosexualty. His attacking Phil Robertson was the foundation of his other idiot remarks.

I see you on this thread trying vainly to defend Beck. Just don't. Beck is a loser and a fraud. While he may have had moments of clarity years ago, he is now useless.

What it says is that you do not believe that he does not drink...hence my query.

He says openly that he is a recovered alcoholic... meaning he doesn’t drink. There is NO reason to question his claim. You can dislike and disagree with Beck all you want. It is peevish to suggest that ‘you don’t know’ whether he drinks or not. Since you don’t know just keep your yap shut on the subject rather than playing the leftie version of catch.....

"Delusions of grandeur."

Very much so, I believe. I've heard him refer to his fans as his "followers." Also, Beck is often unable to deal with disagreement from callers without taking it personally. When I used to listen to him, he would get snarky and bitchy. And then of course, there was that not-so-shining moment when he started shrieking "Get off my phone" in a high, womanish voice.

I sincerely do not think he is stable.
