Obama’s former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, gave a speech to a largely black crowd in Delaware on MLK Day. The vile Chicago pastor said the Tea Party is “a 2.0 upgrade of the lynch mobs.”

Reverend Wright spewed his toxic nonsense in Delaware yesterday at the 30th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Breakfast in Wilmington, Delaware.

Rather than rejecting his hate speech the crowd gave him a standing ovation.:

The crowd loved it and gave him a standing ovation. Delaware Online reported, via The Last Tradition:

The controversial Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright told a crowd celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday at the Riverfront that there is more to do in the civil rights fight.

“Tell your children we have some unfinished business on the agenda with the voting rights bill gutted by a right-wing dominated Supreme Court … with mass incarceration robbing black and brown communities of any positive future … with jobs being shipped overseas … with one branch of the tea party being nothing but a 2.0 upgrade of the lynch mobs … with some folks doing everything they can to get that black man out of their White House.”

Many in the largely black crowd of more than 400 people gave Wright a standing ovation and dozens swarmed him afterward to take pictures and get him to sign their programs.

LOL! I’m no more a Greek linguist than you are so I too am at the mercy of the translator. I don’t recall his name; the translation I cited was one I had memorized from a book I read about Leonidas and his 300 when I was very young. Even then, the story of their utter ferocity and unfailing courage stirred me.

Look at the Wikipedia entry for “Thermopylae.” It has a number of different translations there. The text is by Simonides (the text of the epitaph that is, not the text of the Wikipedia entry).

For anyone who feared racial equality or harmony, Obama and Wright are gifts from God; these two ensure we’ll never have either. Wright will guarantee racial animosity for generations to come, while Obama will ensure that nobody can ever expect blacks to be responsible for their actions.

Years ago a friend in the Marines described the opposition to affirmative action by black fellow Marines; they knew it was damaging to have others suspect they had attained their ranks due to it. You have to be able to count on the next guy, and to do so you must believe they have their position purely on their merits.

I had similar experiences in the Air Force, and I went in during the mid fifties, when we weren't too long from the cotton fields. The military was probably the least prejudiced occupation to be had in those days.
