I have to agree; we never had to deal with this in the past and now all of a sudden we’re getting several shootings a year.

I can only imagine that a part of this is bullying, which is getting vicious, but students these days also lack an outlet for their anger and frustration, so it boils over.

My son was just escorted out of the engineering building after holing up in the basement scared out of his wits. They’re still searching the building. We were communicating with him by text, but reception in the basement was spotty. Daughter was thankfully in her dorm at the time.

I likely missed what you were trying to convey. But Purdue is located in West Lafayette, IN. You knew that, right?

As Universities go, Purdue is VERY conservative. This is not to say the employees in general are uniquely and individually conservative. But Purdue is heavy in the sciences and engineering. The administration of the university is comparatively conservative.

For the most part, they still practice real science at Purdue.

I’m not sure if Purdue is a “gun free” zone officially. It wasn’t when I was there.
