Cops bloodied an 84-year-old man and put him in the hospital Sunday when he jaywalked at an Upper West Side intersection and didnt appear to understand their orders to stop, witnesses said. Kang Wong was strolling north on Broadway and crossing 96th Street at around 5 p.m., when an officer told him to halt because he had walked against the light. Police were targeting jaywalkers in the area following the third pedestrian fatality this month around West 96th Street. Wong, who lives a block away, appeared to not understand the cop, the witnesses said.

"He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."

You should figure that Drudge articles are ALWAYS already posted here — in this case at least twice already.
Gosh! He has big yellow teeth - sorta like a horse on 59th Street!
They must’ve thought Mr. Wong was a pro-life Christian. They’ve been told by the governor himself they’re not welcome in NY.
our heroes.
Blaming this on the mayor is odd unless you are willing to blame anything a cop does on a public official. Considering all similar incidents by cops all over the country, this would be an indictment of all of the conservative mayors, as well.
I choose to blame the individuals who commit crimes.
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
Once more the thugs in blue demonstrate what they REALLY think about citizens.
If it were up to me, I would dissolve every damn police force in the Country and replace them with marshalls, deputy marshalls, posses and a civilian militia.
Three pedestrian fatalities in the vicinity in the past month, and these officers were just trying to make it four.
Deadly force is justified against jaywalkers.
After all, we wouldn’t want them to get hurt or killed being hit by a car, right?
said one witness, Ian King, a Fordham University law student... [The officer] stood him up against the wall and was trying to write him a ticket. The man didnt seem to understand, and he started walking away.
The cop tried to pull him back, and thats when he began to struggle with the cop, said King, 24. As soon as he pushed the cop, it was like cops started running in from everywhere.
So he wasn’t “bloodied for jaywalking”, he resisted and pushed a cop, according to a witness.
Good thing he wasn’t walking his dog they would have shot that.
The badgemonkeys are the “tip of the spear”....that tip needs blunting yes but more importantly the spear itself needs to be whittled down to size. That means summary
justice being served on the politicians, judges and petty bureaucrats that hold the leash on the JBT’s. The term used
in the old west was “vigilance committees”.....it’s time that term was resurrected and put back in to action.
With libs it's always "Vision Zero" because that's the intellect that spawned the vision.
Silly you! Don’t you know you aren’t supposed to read past the headline! :)
Failure to comply will not be tolerated in our free society.
Do I need a < SARC> tag or did I miss yours?
No sarcasm. Are immigrants who don’t bother to learn English (though I’ll bet that doesn’t stop him from collecting Social Security) immune from obeying cops now? Just walk away, and if they stop you it’s abuse? Call the ACLU! Racism!

BTTT
Well obviously he should have been shot. I’m sure the officer was in fear for his life.
Thankfully the cop made it home safely. Those 85 yr olds are dangerous!
