Rep. John A. Boehner and other House Republican leaders are huddling behind closed doors to draft a set of “principles” for immigration reform that they intend to unveil at their upcoming retreat on Jan. 29.
Let me save them some time. There is one — and only one — principle for true immigration reform: Like any other public policy, it should serve the greatest interests of the greatest number of Americans. Clearly, very few if any public policies conform to that principle — hence, Congress‘ 8 percent job-approval rating — but few fail the test as thoroughly as our current immigration policy.
Sadly, there is little reason to expect that the principles for immigration reform the House leadership will put on the table will do much to improve the current situation. Aside from the standard blather about needing to secure the border, the House agenda — much like the bill passed by the Senate last June — will be driven largely by the demands of business lobbyists. There is nothing principled about granting business interests even greater access to cheap foreign labor, when some 92 million working-age adults in the United States are outside the labor force — most not by their own choosing. Millions more American workers are losing their grip on the middle class as their wages stagnate or decline, or work in dead-end jobs.
Granting amnesty to millions of people who broke our laws and churning out green cards to accommodate the demands of would-be immigrants and businesses that want to hire them is the antithesis of principled reform.

Interesting that the LA times did this.. Lou Dobbs reported this on CNN and it cost him his job. The only network we would see this on would be FOX.. All the others are staying away from it. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican this should be of great interest to you!

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7... The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County .)

I agree. yet sadly, those that proclaim to be on our side (from the GOP to the Kochs to the Conservative pundits) are NOT on our side. Of course there are a few exceptions as there are to everything. However, this is about the money. As someone posted this is about getting more consumers and, to a lesser extent, cheaper labor.

Every single problem the US has is caused in part, if not totally, by the invasion of the US and its consequences.
I disagree.
Sending millions of American jobs to China, is also a huge problem.
Bring back American jobs.
Our invader population is even part of that problem. They don't in general care if something's made in the USA or not, so make it easier for merchants to make a profit selling us Chinese crap. Besides that, they've had a negative impact on the ingenuity and creativity that was so important to US manufacturing and invention.
It just seems that way.

I support immigration reform in 2014 - it is a must - and this what I support:
#1 is seal both north and south borders from illegal entry.
#2 remove all Obama restrictions on the Border Patrol and allow them to do their jobs.
#3. All Immigration judges are to order immediate deportation of all illegal aliens charged with crimes - all crimes.
#4. Pass legislation forbidding illegal aliens from accessing any and all welfare benefits derived from federal funds. (ditto - education)
#5. strictly enforce the law prohibiting employers from hiring illegal aliens.
#6. Pass stringent laws denying citizenship to children born of two non-citizens (legal or illegal) The Constitution does so state this but has been misinterpreted over the years per some(many?)constitutional scholars.
With the above in place self-deportation will take place. This is real immigration reform
