What was Obama doing on that night?
I think it’s far more important to answer the question as to what was he not doing, and why not?
This was an opportunity for Barack Obama to be seen as responsive and decisive, if not brave and patriotic.
Let’s face it, Obama could have mobilized immediately, and though the ambassador would still be dead, perhaps many others would not. We all know it’s balderdash to suggest we could not have done more than we did militarily to either attempt to save the Americans in Benghazi, or to begin to insert operatives into the country to exact punitive consequences.
This was again, an opportunity for POLITICAL gain. And the most politically focused President in our history did nothing? No attempt to rescue, no attempt to punish the perps?
The answer, of course, is that if the truth were discovered about what we were doing in Benghazi, then it would have been a tremendous political problem for the Obama reelection campaign. That’s why he did nothing.
Ditto What you said.
He went to bed so he could be fresh for his campaign trip to Las Vegas the next morning.
I think there was some event (some sports thing besides) at the white house which ended about 4 PM.
Someone met with him and told him something was happening (so his loyalists said) and he left...cuz he had to be in Vegas the next am.
I'll dig up some verification of this "memory".
I saw Try Gowdy dance around this question when Megyn Kelly asked him about it. They know and have all been silenced. Notice how it never comes up in any discussion on that night.
Obama blew his post because his hands were dirty. Note that he flew off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser the next morning, while the fires in Benghazi were still burning. I have never seen a CiC desert his post like that. Never.
Look, I'm surprised he didn't appoint the perps into Cabinet positions.
Sadly I have a nice neat concise link that can’t be used here on who zero was with, what they were doing and what condition they were in. Sad to think we can’t handle some things especially those of such import.
