Following Japan's proclamations that it will take over another 280 'disputed ownership' islands, it appears the increasingly dis-approved of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's path of militarism and provocation is working.
As China Daily Mail reports, citing experts, China intends to take back Zhongye Island - 'illegally' occupied by the Philippines, according to the Chinese.
The Chinese navy has drawn a detailed combat plan to seize the island and the battle will be restricted within the South China Sea. Philippines military is building up on the island and the Chinese see as 'intolerable' the "arrogance" relying on US support.

That is most likely,...I do not, however, think that China will make any REAL moves. They have too much commerce in the South China Sea region to screw it up.
So, the “Domino Effect” is finally occurring.
I personally thought the ease with which Hong Kong and Macau were given back to China, sent a very poor signal to them.
China should have every reason to think that whatever it demands, it will get. It rattles it’s sabers, and everyone falls in line.
At some point we’re going to have to say no to China. A few more of these exchanges, and Taiwan will be the demand “NOW!”
And on it goes, us financing China’s rise.
There has never been a nation on earth, that built up it’s number one enemy in such short order.

If they do make a move and the USA backs off then China gets its way altogether subject only to Japan’s reactions. If China thinks the US will not oppose it then China will grab the islands and the Sinicization of the Western Pacific will progress in earnest.

I hope, no pray, that all of the gloBULList capital investment in China, factories and equipment(including suicide netting) gets confiscated(Nationalized) by the ChiCom govt. It would serve them right IMO. A child could see that one coming from miles away.

I understand your point, but if China is cut off, the west will be back in the stone age. Just do a study of what American branded products that you buy are NOT made in China.
The next time you shop in WallyWorld, look at the packages and see where they came from. For example, Black and Decker, made in China. Look at where Levi jeans are made.

At least the Philippines didn't use our notion of "free trade" against us like the rest of Asia that nestled under the American umbrella.
