This is similar to the way our country is being run. And few complain.
Looking forward to the follow-ups on this story.
but the teachers get paid handsomely and the 45 year old retired teachers are collecting their handsome retirement benefits as they sit sunning on the beaches of Miami.
So when does she get appointed Secretary of Education?
Why am I not at all surprised?
The average per student spending in New York City is $19,000 so those 234 students should get $4.4 million. So where did that money go. Even considering the usual “skim” in NYC, there still should be a couple million left.
that very well may be a Title 1 Mink Coat!
“As a Title 1 school, it gets extra federal funds, but community members say theyve never seen a budget tracking the income and spending.”
It might seem the perfect challenge for an idealistic teacher, but for innovation being all but shut-down by the teachers unions.
If the principal was a white male, he would be sacked. That not being the case here, expect the situation to continue and “Ms Sills” can glide to her retirement with only perfunctory appearances at her actual job after which she will make her retirement official and receive a generous monthly kiss in the mail for the rest of her life, based on a $200K salary, courtesy of the taxpayers.
$19770
NYC annual per-pupil spending.
Give parents vouchers for 10k, and watch schooling improve.
Actually, the specific information isn’t necessary. One can divine what one suspects from just the information, curiously lacking a description.
I bet she gonna go golfin’
Bingo.
Eeek! Is it a drag queen? Judging by the mink, I’d say it’s a pretty well-paid drag queen.
That said, the schools out in Far Rockaway have always been bad. Most people who were sane sent their kids to Catholic school.
I laughed out loud when I read “rigorous standards” of Common Core, which is the usual liberal BS. In other words, the kids aren’t expected to learn facts, they’re supposed to free associate and call it “critical thinking,” and there is, at the request of the teachers’ unions, no longer anybody held accountable for the dismal performance of the students.
Governor Scott here in Florida for some reason (probably money) initially accepted the Common Core standards but he is backtracking and today announced that some of the excellent reforms put in under Gov. Bush will be restored and that the State of Florida wants to take back control.
I’m sure De Blasio is a big Common Core guy, though.
And probably learn more than if they were in a class hearing lectures about the greatness of B. Hussein.
And considering NYC just elected a hardcore blatant Marxist as Mayor, she will probably get a raise.
Does this bring back memories?
