Brittany Mathis can't afford the operation because she doesn't have health insurance, so her boss Michael De Beyer is selling his Texas eatery
Brittany Mathis, 19, was diagnosed with the small tumour in December but can't afford surgery to remove it because she doesn't have health insurance.
Manager and boss Michael De Beyer has offered to sell his Kaiserhof Restaurant in Montgomery, Texas, which he has run for 17 years, to help his employee out.

While I realize many would believe there is an ulterior motive such as you two have suggested, after watching the short video clip and reading the article it appears the owner is acting out of a pure heart.
The girls mother also works at the restaurant, and lost her husband the girls father to a tumor.
This family has had hard times.
I understand that the heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9) - but it is best not to project one's inner darkness upon another.

Oh, my goodness, Montgomery is about 10 miles west of me. There is a big, divided highway all the way there and a number of upper class subdivisions around that side of the lake and that big highway is our main thoroughfare through that area. Down that highway and come to the middle of the town of Montgomery.
Wonder why she can’t sign up for Medicaid and have the operation?
If he has less than 40 or 50 emoloyees(whatever that number is), which is likely, Obamacare won’t impact his business, as he is not obligated to provide health insurance.
in this world due to our current sin natures there aren’t any 100% altruistic acts. there may be 99% or better, but not 100%. still given our human conditions at the moment, something near 100% altruistic is remarkable.

You are living in dream land. No hospital is going to do that without money. Perhaps the surgeon if he works for himself could do it free if he wanted, but he is not the hospital.

You must have a very sad life to automatically suspect such a thing.
This is happening in my county and it is about 98% conservative Republican. All Republicans in all county offices. We have mucho Bubba’s here and the best shooting range around is only several miles from that restaurant. Therefore, I surmise the restaurant owner is a conservative.
Most hospitals have a charity discount program. As a 19 year old waitress, I’d think that she would qualify.
Ever hear of St Judes? Or the Shriner’s Hospital? Those aren’t the only two.
If you read the article, you would see that her dad died when she was little and her mom and older sister also work for the owner. You should be able to read the article and perhaps even comprehend (that is, understand it), as there are only a few words containing more than two syllables.
