Gov. Chris Christies load of bull: Fired aide Bridget Kelly merely a patsy in attempt to shelter Port Authority cronies, himself
What did the governor know about the George Washington Bridge lane closures, and when did he know it? Ex-Port Authority executive David Wildstein pleaded the Fifth Wednesday, so we wait until an independent investigation can reveal the whole story.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies one-hour-and-forty-seven-minute self-serving, self-pitying display of contrition on Thursday was a climactic act in a brazen cover-up that threatens to further unravel his political career.
Ever so thoroughly the governor scoured the thesaurus for words of apology, regret and painless self-flagellation while nervily playing the victim and mercilessly destroying the aide who played only a supporting role for the George Washington Bridge political revenge plot. Christie needed blood to express his outrage to the public, so he drew it from deputy chief of staff Bridget Kelly for the sin, the governor said, of lying to him. Perhaps, Kelly did lie, although it seems incredible that anyone would flat-out attempt to deceive an intense, emergency inquiry.
Regardless, Christie made roadkill of Kelly and his former campaign manager while wholly exempting the close pals who were central to the lane-closure conspiracy that caused four days of gridlock and dangerously slowed emergency response in Fort Lee. Pathetic.
The governor gave three truly guilty parties, David Wildstein, Bill Baroni and David Samson, passes. Each is a Christie lieutenant who held a high position at the authority. While their exact roles are still hidden and Christie saw no reason to inquire about them each either engineered, concealed or did nothing about the interstate transportation outrage.

On “Fox and Friends” the headline was that Christie was being “attacked by the mainstream media” at 8 this morning.
They should have added that Christie was being “defended by the RINOstream media”.
During the preceding hour Christie supporter Rudy Giuliani was defending him on “F and F”.
I’m not being sucked in to defend Christie or his passing the buck to others with the firings and spin talk yesterday.
That’s a key Alinski tactic, to hold your opposition accountable to their own standards, while you operate unconstrained, since you posses no standards.
Good point. Obama is our number one problem plus all of his goons.
Looks like FReepers are employing their hatred for Christie as their measure for his guilt.
I understand what you’re saying....but in this case....(because there’s nothing criminal involved) when someone takes the 5th...he’s not protecting himself.
You are correct ... to New Yorkers a fart in New York/New Jersey is the equivalent of deaths and lying about Benghazi, the IRS manipulation, the NSA spying under Obama, Fast & Furious lying and murders, Knock-out Assaults etc.
I think their stinking attitudes will finally metastasizes with the new Mayor.
My favorite comment came from Laura Ingraham last night when she said Christie would have to win over the establishment Republicans to get the nomination and this could hurt him. Isn’t he part of the establishment?
Agree. Kristie Kreme is in this thing up to his eyeballs. That mea culpa press conference was a fake. More shoes to drop. Gov. Kreme is toast.
RUSH: Now you got the New York Times saying (paraphrasing), "We're not moved by this. He may have apologized, but that doesn't mean that this bridge scandal is over." They think this could still be the end of his career. CNN's not letting go. CNN just said this is only the beginning. Let's go to the audio sound bites. Here's Christie. We've got two of them. Listen carefully. Both of these are from today, the press conference. Here's the first one. Listen carefully.CHRISTIE: Believe me, John, I haven't had a lot of sleep the last two nights, and I've been doing a lot of soul-searching. I'm sick over this.
RUSH: I haven't had a lot of sleep the last two nights. A lot of soul-searching, sick over this, haven't had a lot of sleep the last two nights. Here's the next bite.
CHRISTIE: I was done with my workout yesterday morning, and got a call from my communications director at about 8:50, 8:55 informing me of this story that had just broken on the Bergen Record website, that was the first time I knew about this. It's the first time I had seen any of the documents that were revealed yesterday.
RUSH: Look, I gotta ask, then why didn't he sleep the first night? He said, "I haven't had a lot of sleep the last two nights, lot of soul-searching. But I just found out about this yesterday after my workout."
Interesting. Maybe a slip of the tongue, or just a slip up?
This is just another distraction away our nationsâ real problem, a federal entity that seeks to enslave and control every behavioral aspect of the population of the United States of America. Comparably, this is a parking violation to what Obama and the entire criminal democrat party does on a daily basis.
Krispy has been quick with very vocal judgement of many conservative politicians for less (or non-existent) offenses. Do some of us enjoy seeing him deal with his own mud storm?.... You bet.
My point was about the media in general and the Obama suckup Daily News in particular.
The bridge was not closed. Two out of ten toll booth lanes were closed.
And if Christie wasn't in on it, there would be no reason he would know about. The GWB is a snarled mess two out of five days every week.
At the time, only those involved knew this particular traffic jam was a petty political punishment. It looked like just another crappy commute.
He was angry.
Then, he latched onto the excuse that he was told the traffic slowdown was part of a traffic study. Once he latched onto that, he repeated it a dozen times during the presser. It was reminiscent of Obama/Rice/Clinton and the movie that upset the Middle East and caused the Benghazi attacks.
I have a feeling this is just the tip of a bigger iceberg and the MSM/Opposition Researchers smell blood.
Christie did seemingly contradict himself. At one point, he said he knew nothing (in Sgt. Schultz style) until about 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday. During another commentary, he said he was kept awake by this 'crisis' and had not slept for 2 nights. Uh o. That would put his knowing about the 'crisis' on Tuesday.
O what a tangled web we weave ...

Whoops...Post #35
They closed down a couple a lanes on a local entrance to the toll plaza. The media did not even bother to send reporters to look at the landscape. As for the lady who died, the family said she was dead when the ambulance arrived at the home, the ambulance was in no hurry to get to the hospital, they were headed for the morgue not the emergency room. As for Fort Lee, the residents of that town are not known for their driving skills, if you know what I mean.
Funny thing is that the RATS and the LSM held their fire and waited until Christie signed their NJ Amnesty bill before they threw him under the bus.
And how long did they wait after the NJ Amnesty bill was signed? One day!
