Pope Francis insistence in his new apostolic exhortation that authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Quran are opposed to every form of violence is drawing negative reviews from some analysts of the religion who point to the Islamic holy books calls to wage war against nonbelievers.
How does he know that? When did he become an imam? wonders columnist Pamela Geller.
She notes as an example the Quranic passage that states: So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks.
At a time when Christianity worldwide is under siege by Islamic jihadists, the leader of the Catholic Church claims that the Quran teaches nonviolence, Geller writes. ...

Why is the Pope pretending that it is a religion of peace?
Totally wrong on every level.
Which Koran did he study?
The pope continues to disappoint.
I’ve heard priests call it ‘that thing the Islamists refer to as a religion’
Perhaps the pope has not read the muslim’s book
Pope Benedict got in big trouble for being honest about this.
His Holiness is sadly mistaken about Islam. While their book has some peaceful teachings, these are generally attributed to Mo’s earlier years. Before he transformed” into a man of violence and started killing people. And the Moslems choose to follow the later ( hateful pro- murdering) teachings when there is a conflict. They say this is the logical way to resolve their contradictory teachings. And it almost always results in the horrible violence exhibited by Islam all around the world Perhaps so done more knowledgeable in the Vatican will be able now to bring the Pope up to speed on the reality of things Islam ?
NONE ARE SO BLIND AS THOSE WHO WILL NOT SEE.
Actually Francis has it backwards.
I notice that the FURTHER one is from obeying the tenets of authentic Islam, the LESS extremist and violent one is.
The closer and more seriously one takes the tenets of authentic Islam, the MORE extremist and violent one becomes.
I think his standard of authenticity is not internal to Islam.
>>Why is the Pope pretending that it is a religion of peace?
Because liberalism is a mental disorder.
bump
The Pope is an idiot and definitely not infallible.
My sympathies to the lay Catholics and the rest of the world as well, which can use some solid philosophical guidance against Islam.
I think I know why, though. He’s got a theory in the back of his mind that every religion on earth is just Christianity in disguise with problems.
Even at the most open minded I could possibly get (any further and my brains would fall out) why isn’t this guy alert for doctrines of demons? One might be able to TRY to claim that about a peaceful faith like Buddhism. But the book of Islam is like cover to cover wickedness. That’s why Jimmy Carter, that inveterate Sunday School teacher, pored over it in vain looking for an opening for the nicey-nice offense.
QED.
What’s next for this guy, saying Christ was a wealthy tradesman?
Islam also tends to look for trouble to get embroiled in. It doesn’t have anything corresponding to gospel.
