Contestant of British reality show "Celebrity Big Brother" ex-heavyweight boxing champ, Evander Holyfield caused an outrage with degrading anti-gay comments and has now been warned by the show makers.
Holyfield in conversation with Luisa Zissman said that being gay was not normal, and that they could be treated by a doctor just like the physically disabled.
"The Bible lets you know, that's wrong, that's right. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right... All I'm trying to tell you, you know how handicapped people are born, you can't say because they were born that way,"
The retired boxer's opinion did not go down well with Zissman, who explained that such comparison did not hold valid since "it's not a choice." To this the boxer retorted, "Yes it is a choice, come on, that ain't the way nobody is made."
Soon after, Holyfield was called to the confession room where he was warned and told that his comments were offensive and went against the show's rules. The boxer said he understood the situation but failed to apologize and said that his comments were his personal opinion and was not aimed at anyone.
Reacting to Holyfield's anti-gay comments, English singer Boy Gerorge took to Twitter to express his disgust at the boxer's controversial comments.
"Shame, I had such admiration for Mr Evander Holyfield, he seemed dignified and I was sure he was a cool, smart, giant!"
"I think anyone visiting this country for any reason should be cautioned and forced to swear allegiance to 'Queens & country!!" and added "At customs there should be a huge sign! Welcome to Britain, racism, sexism, homophobia and bad hair are not tolerated!" 5Holyfields' anti-gay comments on 5 January's episode also had him nominated for eviction along with Zissman for failing to execute a task.
First time I heard Boy George sing I thought it was a woman.
It began with the president joking about how bad a bowler he is.
Toward the end of his approximately 40-minute taping on the "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," Obama talked about how he'd gotten better at bowling and had been practicing in the White House bowling alley.
"I bowled a 129," he told Leno.
"That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically.
But then came the foot-in-mouth moment: "It's like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
Shriver told "GMA" that these moments can worsen the stereotypes of people with special needs.
"I think it's important to see that words hurt, and words do matter -- and these words can, in some way, be seen as humiliating or [a] put-down to people with special needs," he said. "[They] do cause pain, and they do result in stereotypes, and they do result in behavior that's neglectful and almost [an] oppressive moment of people with special needs.
"This kind of language needs to be a teachable moment for our country, I think," he added. "I would hope every parent that's at home this morning watching this show could turn to their children and say, 'This is a chance for us to recognize that when we talk about Special Olympics, when we talk about people with special needs. Let's make sure we talk about it in an affirming way,'" he said.

Obama Apologizes for Calling His Bad Bowling 'Like the Special Olympics'
"He was very sincere, expressed an interest and an openness in being more engaged in the movement, and said he was a fan of the movement and I think, importantly, he said he was ready to have some of our athletes over to the White House to bowl or play basketball or help him improve his score."
Well if a person can not reproduce due to a pathological fear ..thats a handicap..is it not?
Sexual perversion is mental illness. Why not say that perverts are handicapped, abnormal, working without all the tools most people have.
No doubt these same vermin - as Boy George - consider conservativism a mental disorder, implying that therapy and treatment can cure it.
No incongruity or hypocrisy among the left, for sure.
“The gays will counter by saying that it is NOT an evolutionary dead end because they can use their sperm and egg to reproduce via in-vitro fertilization and surrogate motherhood.”
On other words....you still need a make and a female to produce a child. “in-vitro” is just jumping through hoops to do the exact same thing.
Holyfield in conversation with Luisa Zissman said that being gay was not normal, and that they could be treated by a doctor just like the physically disabled.
“The Bible lets you know, that’s wrong, that’s right. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right... All I’m trying to tell you, you know how handicapped people are born, you can’t say because they were born that way,”
HE’S RIGHT!!
He/she probably doesn’t know (what he/she is.)
Has the lead singer from “Dead or Alive” or the lead singer from “Frankie Goes to Hollywood”, weighed in yet?
That’s Boy George these days? Wow! I thought that was a photo of the actor William Frawley, who played Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy. Of course, I have aged too over 25 years, Oh yes. Well, at least he did go all Michael Jackson with the plastic face.
Uncle Fester! That’s who Boy George reminds me of now. That title of “Uncle Fester” is almost too appropriate these days.
put the two of them in the ring, and ring the bell...we’ll see who comes out then
I think homosexuals at least have free choice when it comes to acting on their temptations. Regardless, does it really matter if people are born that way or not? Seriously. People are born with all sorts of disabilities, but we don’t claim those disabilities are normal. They may be naturally occurring, but that doesn’t mean that’s the human norm. If someone is born lame, for example, we try to correct it. We don’t just say being lame is normal.
If homosexuality is normal (not just naturally occurring), then a human population composed entirely of homosexuals should be viable, but we know that’s not true. We can be sympathetic toward those with unhealthy predispositions, assuming homosexuals are born that way, but I absolutely refuse to claim homosexuality is normal or on par with heterosexual relations. That’s an absolute, bold faced lie.
I bet many homosexuals even know the truth, though they try to hide it. I think that’s why some want to suppress anyone who dare speaks the truth.
Boy George is gay?
Nothing about bad teeth?
"Do you really want to hurt me?"
"Yes I do!"
