A panel of politicians and commentators on NBCs Meet the Press sized up the political issues that will dominate 2014 heading into the midterm elections on Sunday. The panel largely agreed that the Affordable Care Act is the most pressing issue of the day today, but they were not sure if that dynamic would still be in place by November. PBS anchor Judy Woodruff said that the issue of inequality is compelling and could speak to more Americans lives than the ACAs implementation woes.
NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd began the segment by observing that the Democrats he speaks with are largely overlooking the political problem that the ACA may pose for their party in November. He said that they believe the political problems they face today will fade as the ACA begins to function as it was intended.
Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD) agreed. Every single day it gets better for millions of Americans, and thats only a good news story for the administration, she said.
Former GOP strategist Steve Schmidt insisted that, even though the ACAs roll out is improving, the question remains that the programs problems could be structural and not merely cosmetic.
They have to get health care right. Theyve got to work on it, Woodruff declared. But, at the same time, the argument for doing something about the economy, the argument for addressing inequality is such a compelling argument.
She cited a piece in the New York Times by former Obama advisor Steve Rattner who cited a booming Dow Industrial Average which contrasts with how average Americans fared in 2013. She said that wages have not increased on pace with productivity, and that may have political benefits for Democrats.
Bammy >> US Constitution
The MSM has its ridiculous marching orders
They’ve been building this meme for a few months now.
Wouldn’t be suprised if Zero does’t try to issue an Executive Order for banks to turn over deeds to foreclosed property to the first one to claim squatters rights
Judy just spilled the Obama butt-kissing media’s talking points for the entire 2014 election.
This is the counter to the “inequality” issue (which is complete nonsense):

If all incomes are not rising - that is something Obama has to answer for, not the GOP. Things can be made more “equal” and everyone be worse off - “inequality” is a fake argument.
Meanwhile millions of struggling Americans will be paying hundreds of dollars more out of their pocket for Obama mandated healthcare. How's that for equality?
Nope, that would give an individual a fighting chance to get out from under the thumb of the state. He’s a statist first and foremost — “free” foreclosures would go to his buddies (i.e. bosses) in the banking industry, to be rented to people who must remain on the treadmill as long as possible.
Did anybody ask Judy who the POTUS was while the stock market soared to irrational heights and median income fell 5%?
..... Stupid question isn't it? ..... Of course it will overtake Obamacare in 2014 ...... they will do anything to divert the electorate away from the real genuine issues!
.... The important question is .... How will what is left of the real GOP respond to this narrative and gain control .... then redirect this narrative and force the REAL issues back into the lime-lite back into the face of the electorate once again.
...... Or is the United States of America destined to be cast into the trash-pile of Socialism because of inaction by those that are left to prevent such a disaster?
.... Unfortunately ... based on the past performance of the GOP in this last decade ..... I think we can now accurately predict the outcome of the fate of this country.
Judy, Judy, Judy. The only reason that “Inequlity” will be a big issue in 2014 is because Obama and the Dems, desperate to change the focus from that failed healthcare system we call Obamanationcare, are counting on bozos like yourself to make it so.
good point.
That contradicts their demands for endless unemployment comp and raised minimum wage.
“Inequality” is code for “kill all the white people.”
The family whose health insurance premiums go from $200 per month to $1000 per month thanks to Obiecare isn’t going to care how much the teenager working at McDonald’s is earning. When Obiecare also denies Gramma cataract surgery and she can no longer drive, the mom isn’t going to be worried about someone else when she has to take off work and start driving Gramma to the store and her doctor’s appts. No matter what they try, they cannot dodge the fact that the horrors of Obiecare are thanks to the Democrats.

Like Mark Levin said today, only free market opportunities...NOT WELFARE PROGRAMS...will EQUALLY offer opportunities to ALL.
Judy, Judy, Judy - - - -why not donate a month’s salary to your inequality qualified script writers each time that you tell a news “story” that is not “fair and balanced?”
